how to stop the bane from attacking me

I attacked a red bane at illshenar when I first came back and didnt realize at the time i would then be attacked everytime i ran into the bane somewhere.

what do I have to attack to reverse this?
I tried meer and ophidian thingies but it didnt help

Click on your character in game and click on loyalty rating to see your status. I've read that if you kill one from one side, you have to kill three from the other to return to neutral.

It wasn't working on killing ophids at terra keep, but did work when i killed meer in Illshenar!
