How much gold to train imbuing?

I might be breaking down and start working it.. only have a few hundred gems and misc resources.

So I was wondering about how much it will cost me to train it?

I spent about a million buying gems, mostly amber for imbuing LRC. Currently I'm in the high 90's with about 5k amber left. I've heard people say they used about 3mil to get to legendary.

[Edit]
And most likely this info is worthless to you being on Siege. I suppose I should pay more attention to which forum I am looking at when I view the live feed. But those are the numbers for a regular shard. Is there some sort of conversion rate for Siege?

yeah, about 3x. Cheapest citrine, at faction vendor, 104gp each.

But it's balanced out by being much cheaper after RoT, so I dunno where the total Siege cost ends up.

With the new changes who knows...might be able to just unravel into the 70/80 and cost nothing!

I would wait and see.

I'm currently at 107.4 Imbueing. I've used 2000 citrine at 200k, 1500 amber
at 250k and 4000 oak boards at 60k.. Total so far 510k.. Forget.. Also a large pile of ingots which I didn't count..

Well, I wonder if they will make training dummies take you to 70/80 too, instead of the current 25 rolleyes:

thats about what i used to go 120 skill. once you hit ROT then you can mostly get a gain off 1 citrine.

now with new patch for higher gains with unraveling then you could almost train for free. granted that you collect monster loot along the way.

Wow, I'm at about 1200 amber and 400 citrines used, but only 65 imbuing. I know obviously ROT makes it much easier, but I wonder what I'm doing wrong. Total cost right now is about 200k, but that also includes about 300-400 amber/citrines I still have left in the bank for training.

Very similar situation, I spent 300k on gems and I am at 77 imbue with lots of gems left. Once you hit ROT some light farming of gargoyles is all thats needed for the gems ( they drop 2 - 4 per kill, and the shadow gargoyles in the Kings Tomb are even easier to kill! )

I could have gotten away with 200k total for training purposes, and farm the rest at ROT up to 120 skill.

The techique I use only uses 1 gem per imbue attempt, not sure what everyone else is using.

Start with a exceptionally crafted dagger ( which starts with weight if you need higher difficulty ) or tinkered butchers knives, if you dont need the raised difficulty of exceptionally crafted, stone a skill and make regular.

I am using amber and saphires ( because I have many of them ), I imbue hit cold on an item, then switch to hit dispel using amber, the weight from increased damage from exceptionally crafted plus the increased weight from hit cold will increase the difficulty enough to make it only require one gem for the last nine gains on that dagger. Once you hit ROT, you'll be only spending 10 - 13 gems per 1.0 gained.

During RoT, you never have to switch weapons again.

You can keep gaining after it says you have a reduced chance.

Well I did luck right from the start till 90, then went to reflect. I started with a 20% taly and no skills, then 120 smith, then smith + lore to keep difficulty to 60%ish. Once in rot, you can gain skill even at 118% success. Now im not sure where it quits gaining, seems to be in the 119%-120%. But swap to a 43DI wep with reflect in the 90s

Personannly after busing hump to build the skill quickly I am annoyed that they are gonna make it so much easier to build. It really requires a dedication the skill the way it is now; 80 percent of my game was training imbue, farming residue, or clocking out rot gains. I am fairly sure I was the 2nd or third person to hit 120 on siege. I know LP beat me there, not sure if Caesar did or not.

Although I will say that work has already payed off.

Yeah you made a nice business out of it.

The new changes are what is making me want to do it.. crafted armor is obsolete (it was only about 60% obsolete, now it'll be 100%).

spined runic crafted/imbued is the way of the future; just ask my pimpin lmc, mr2, High fire and poison gloves, gorgets, and arms that round out my faction suit:).

I'll be happy when imbuing replaces your faction suit completely.

If they add dci and hci as craftable props on armour you may see it. The most cost effective way to get dci on a mage is to use faction arties.
