How much do you tip?

Maybe we can have some controversy that DOESN'T depend on something bad.

When you spend an hour (about one green cycle) on a lot, how much do you tip?

If you spend several hours on the same lot, do you tip according to how many hours or just per visit?

Do you tip on every visit, on most visits, only occasionally, or never?

Do you tip differently according to the lot category? Since the owner/roommies might be making money while they are hosting on money lots, do you tip less than on skill lots where they can't make money while they are hosting you?

Do you tip more if they serenade?

When there are multiple roommates on the lot, do you split the tip between them, give it all to one, or tip more when there are more roommates?

Tip jars are currently anonymous. Would you like it if they could see who tipped how much?

HI Each tip jar will show the owners name when the roomie is in the house hosting. I usually leave a jam, board or painting as a tip for the person hosting.

Here's my tipping philosophy:

I have maxed a couple skills, so I can make around §500/hour on a money lot. I generally tip 10% of what I make on a money lot or around §50/hour.

On a skill lot, I tip more, averaging around §65/hour.

I usually split the tip between the roommies who are on the lot while I'm there.

I do tip more if they serenade or do other things that make it a better experience.

When I play two accounts in the same lot, I tip twice as much.

If I were getting tips, I'd like to know who was tipping me how much.

Depends... If I liked the service/sims running the lot, I might tip up to 1k...although I haven't recently because money is tight
If the service is really bad, I might just tip enough to cover my plate of food. LOL

If you spend several hours on the same lot, do you tip according to how many hours or just per visit?
I will tip more depending on how many greens I went through

Do you tip on every visit, on most visits, only occasionally, or never?
I try to tip every visit.

No, not really

Do you tip more if they serenade?
Yes

When there are multiple roommates on the lot, do you split the tip between them, give it all to one, or tip more when there are more roommates?
I watch, and the ones that actually hosted get my tips and I will split accordingly. I may look AFK-but I watch.

Nah, doesn't matter to me. I wish sometimes that there could be one tip jar for the lot by the mailbox. you could designate who the $ went to when you typed in the amount with like a bullet select or something... anyway, you wouldnt have to search around for the tipjar and who's is whos and it could cut down on property objects. Some lots have tons of jars with little stands for each... Property limits could be used for something else prettier. The $$ went directly into their account-they wouldnt need to get it out of the jar.

I tip more on skill lots, more when serenade often, more when food is out on a good basis.

The most I think I tipped about 500$, just because I'd been skilling there for 4 days and they'd be fantastic hosts.

I wish people would charge me for food so tipping would leave my lexicon unless I really wanted to leave one cuz they were just that good.

I'm a terrible tipper, I forget far more often then I remember for sure. I do other things tho that are better then tips, I fix and clean things.

When you spend an hour (about one green cycle) on a lot, how much do you tip? If I actually green there it depends on how much I have in my pocket, how well I was treated, as well as other guests, was the place entertaining, did the owner/roomie cook or talk or serenade or anything, then I choose an amount...which will be less in the future based on this cap. Sorry peeps. If I don't green there I don't tip unless the owner/roomie stands out.

If you spend several hours on the same lot, do you tip according to how many hours or just per visit? I usually tip if I've been there couple hours, about a hundred a green. Will be much less in the future...

Do you tip on every visit, on most visits, only occasionally, or never? I try to tip on every visit where they had to do something for me. I don't tip at stores unless I get a super good deal.

Do you tip differently according to the lot category? Since the owner/roommies might be making money while they are hosting on money lots, do you tip less than on skill lots where they can't make money while they are hosting you? I tip more at properties that get less visitors. I tip more to a skill lot than I would a money lot, but still tip something at a money lot.

Do you tip more if they serenade? Yes

When there are multiple roommates on the lot, do you split the tip between them, give it all to one, or tip more when there are more roommates? Depends on how helpful the roomies are. If one is doing all the hosting that one will get tipped. If they both are, I'll tip them equally.

Tip jars are currently anonymous. Would you like it if they could see who tipped how much? I don't tip to get noticed. I also hate when I can't thank someone for their tip. I'm split on this one.

I forget to tip. Usually if I'm leaving a house it's because I have to go.. so I just flat leave the game.

There should be a tip button. You can put in the amount and it will be divided equally to all roomies online and in the house.

I've tipped once or twice and that was because I actually had some money to spare. I also made up the difference when I bought a bookcase for a roomie where I was once, so I considered that a tip. I think the most I tipped was $300. But like I said, I had money at the time. I think most places understand that we're all broke and can't really afford to tip. I wish I could tip more, but I've already started using the ATM more than I'd like just to cover basic costs for most of my sims and building costs for another. I don't tip more if they serenade. If I tip (and I will do so more in the future) it's usually a per visit thing. I most likely won't tip at a place that is already making money off of me for some reason or other. I would most likely tip a skill place. Also in lieu of tipping, I've also helped out with serenades when I went to a skill house. And if there is more than one roomie on, I usually tip the one that I've become friendly with. Or if I haven't become friendly with any of them, it's the one that has done the most for me. And no I don't think we should be able to see who tipped and how much. I think that would be an invasion of privacy and probably embarrassing to those who couldn't tip or couldn't tip much. Also, I don't think you should tip stores as a rule. They're already getting your money. HOWEVER, speaking as the owner of a temporary store, if you're gonna just come to my place to meet up with someone to link or if you want to green, tipping would be a polite thing to do. I've had several people come to my place lately just to link with someone and then leave without buying anything. Very frustrating.

I generally tip as much as I can afford--which isn't much XD But I try to tip at least 15-20 per green cycle. Most of the time when the roomies are fun I'll take it up to 30-40, if I have the cash.

I do tip, I used to be able to tip more, but then didn't we all.
I tipped someone for reviving me after an accidental mangling.
$300. in EA Land.
I tipped a host in TC3 last night $2k because I don't play there, had the money, was trying to test out the anti-bot measures but not making much headway, lol. The house was new and in need of much. I only got buffet once there and left hungry, but they needed the money more than I did.
Also, last night in TC3 I visited a money house with a friend, got invited to pizza with the roomie who was keeping the house open. About five or six pizzas in she runs to the phone and calls her cab for work. Nice, she did not get a tip. She woulda gotten 'the bird' if I could find that emote on my sim. By the time I was booted into space from there I was really red lol. Probably not going back to TC3 anytime soon.
I pretty much deplore skilling and will do it if I absolutely must, never past a lock and my sims all have free locks, some have many. So I don't go to skill houses to skill much, when I do I tip. I am venturing out more into some money houses on my off-work hours, I do tip there as well. The only places that I go to that I wont tip, are stores. I don't hang out there, I go to buy.
Tips vary, I take into account:
*The personality of the host/hostess
*What I was fed
*How long I was there
*Creativity of lot design
*How much effort was put into keeping the guests happy
*Even take into account the maid and repairman, these costs have to be covered somehow
*My mood
*Probably a few more things, lol, but all in all I believe I am a fair tipper. I know how much it can be appreciated.

I would not want to know who tipped what. I do not like that idea at all.
