[Necromancy] How long should it take?

At 75.2 I started the 75.x to 95.x with wither. I set up a macro on UOA to wither 5 times wait til mana is xxx then wither 5 times. Set the macro up for 50 withers. In 15 hours of watching my character wither I have gone from 75.2 to 88.2

Does that seem slow to anyone other than me?

Here are some more details:
under 300 skill points total to insure faster gains
med is 100 to med faster
SS is at 88.9

Any suggestions would be helpful. I have not done any Necro's since before 8 x 8 got nerfed.

switch to casting lich form. lich form gives mana regen so it'll help you cast more of them

I was following the guide that says to cast wither until 95.x So, do you mean get into Lich Form and continue to cast Wither or do you mean switch to casting Lich Form?

Realizing that Necro gains are based on success and not failure I decided to keep with casting Wither. I did cast Lich Form to gain the extra mana regen. And though 8 x 8 is gone, it would seem "hot spots" still exist! I went sailing around and found a "hot spot" and went from 88.5 to 91.4 in 10 minutes. Hopefully I will GM this in a more timely fashion!

What do you mean hot spot?

Cast lich+wisp for best mana back. Equip RBC, all your LMC/MR gear too

There have always been people that say that there are "Hot Spots" for skill gain. Of course the jury is out on whether or not these "hot spots" actually exist. But hey, either "hot spot" or lucky RNG if you can gain that amount in a single spot in a few minutes, more power to you!

Underworld + Acid Slugs + Wraith Form + Wither (1.5s @ 2/6) = Infinite mana training.

I was able to get necro and ss from Zero to legendary within a week or so. I did by castig spells that requires no target such as beast, lich and vampire. I would switch spells after my current skill level was about 10 points higher than the minimum requirements to cast the spell I was casting.

By doing this you will get necro done first, then switch back to a lower end spell such as beast form to finish SS.

As a returning player, with the actual changes done to the game, iI thought it was really easy to take these skills to legendary.

Not sure what end game your looking for wether necro mage or sampire or whammy but i know for my necro mage i locked necro at 105 and let ss go to 120.also way i raised my skill up was doing champ spawns wether ish or fel or tokyo. was training and actully enjoying what i was doing in the mean time seeing that my char is already finished but i still spam withers in spawns anyways so why not train and get atleast some pinks while your at it. TYR
