How long before everyone is using same equipment?

Sir Mord, I might have missed something you've said, but suppose we agree that everyone will run around with the same equipment. What precisely is wrong with that?

I don't disagree with everyone running the same gear, what I do disagree with is...

-Crafters getting 450% intensity while others get only 400%. If I understand this right, I could get a dagger off a peerless with only 48% hld and 48% fireball, but a smith could just craft a GM one, and put MORE intensity on it. How does this make hunting viable AT ALL?!

-Archers really got screwed. You need 40SSI on bows for them to be truly good.

Well okay. That's the subject for a "why imbuing is overpowered" type thread. I don't really understand enough about imbuing for this, but hunting can give items to be unraveled or base items to be imbued. Which, for me at least, is a heap more fun than hunting was before.

With 12 years experience playin this game, i've seen em come and i've seen em go. I've seen the endless cycle of changes this game has to offer. This is not a "change" this is called hitting the wall. I'll give it by spring or even summer (for those that are slow) next year, everyone left on this shard (talking to those that pvp) will have weapons, armor, and gear that is exactly the same as the next guy. Look out, that wall is pretty big.

Does anyone play here anymore, and if so are they interested in buying a 140 month old account for gold? ;)

icq - 310357344, I dont get on much but Ill check it eventually.

How could this hurt PvM?
PVM loot is now pretty much useless outside of boss loot, which may be too much for many to tackle.

You can make good baseline stuff, stuff with out relics, that will be better than 90% of anything you find on a monster.

Pvm will now be for 1) stuff to unravel, 2) champs, peerless only.

Although I have a feeling #2 is how it was for most people already, so It probably wont have a huge effect.

Archers are still going to do OK.

Having given this some further thought. I think having a better variety of good to great equipment will lead to a better variety of templates.

Every time some one builds a better mouse trap, someone will build a better mouse.

crafters get 500, monster loot items are 450 I think. I assume the caps were done the way they were to not completely devalue the higher end hammers.
BTW you can still enhance a bow post imbue *I have never enhanced archery weapons so I have no idea of the break rate*. The old methods for gettigna nice bow are still all in place regardless of imbuing; that can be said for everything.

I like being able to custom craft my non-faction pieces for my suit instead of burning a hammer. I have made some pretty good pieces with just a spined kit and imbuing.

Monster loot weps and armor sucks because weps are not gm and monster loot will not a get a exceptional or arms lore bonus to resists. Of course if you are not looking for resists just starting mods like mr2 or lmc 8 then they are ok as long as it is only lmc 8 or mr2. Otherwise property slots are wasted on stuff you do not want. The only real thing worth farming would be jewels. But then again you want max intensities to save resource farming and they have to be in the right mod and have no other unwanted mods. So blank 1/3's should be more valuable than 1/3 with a bunch of other crap mods. But like a 1/3 with 4 lmc is fine if you were planning on adding 7 or 8 lmc anyway.

Peerless ya you can get uber weps, but if they are not over the 500 imbue cap and in the mods you want are they really that valuable? Loot 450 total points vs 500 crafted total points. Unless you don't want DI on your wep then I guess it is ok.

Honestly I do not see a whole lot of monster loot worth farming anymore, except for resources and marty drops to unravel them for fragments.

I'm afraid Mr. X is right...farming for loot just makes no sense at all, why risk farming and risk running into Cheapsuit in a dark cave when you can create much better items from the comfort of your home?

I'd be more worried about about Elvis and Lincoln coming back from the dead to steal my winning lottery ticket than I would be about running into you in a cave, Cheapy =]
