How do you store your bods?

Hello everyone? I have a question for the bod collectors out there. How do you store your bods? Do you keep them in secure chests or do you lock down the books? Which takes up less lockdowns? Sometimes it seems like the secure containers take up more space, unless I am able to put just the right amount of bods in each.

I have a castle full of bods (yes you read that right! A castle) and I am trying to figure out how I want to store them. Right now they are in chests, but I'm thinking of rearranging and may go to stacks locked down.

What do you think?

its isnt the "rigth" way, and many players dont like the way you do, but...

set up a few vendors, and place the bodbooks inside vendorbag.

set no price, so noone can buy em, and the bods inside the bodbook, should not have priced either.

so no one can buy the books, or the deeds inside the book.

vendorfee is the 60 gp each day, because you set no prices and the lockdowns, which the bodbooks had used are free for other items.

The only problem with that is I am on Siege and in a swamp. I really don't want to set my house to public. But I will think about it again. Thank you!

Ooooooh. Now I understand. Yes, I suppose I should have mentioned that in my original post. I am still considering it. I may set it to public for a few days and see how many swamp creatures follow me in!

I sort my small metal BODs by metal, then by Exceptional and normal. I sort all the large BODs by metal, but leave the exceptional and normal in the same book. I have 8 secure chests (2 stacks of 4) where I store each different color (each chest has 3 BOD books -Exceptional, Normal, and Large). I have a 9th chest where I store the Iron small BODs (for filling and turning in).

For tailor BODs, I have 5 chests. 1 for BRSK smalls, 1 for 120 Scroll smalls, 1 for CBD smalls, and one for BRSK, 120 Scroll, and CBD LBODs. A 5th chest holds my Cloth smalls for fillling and turn in.

I store any overflow (my house is pretty full) on Vendors. On Siege, you can make your house public, but only allow the owner or friends to use any doors or teleports.

i use vendors have over 300 vendors with bods on them as for setting house to public just makke your doors so that no one but you can open them then you have no problem

I tend to keep my bods in cycle. Meaning that I fill all the bods that are "turn-ins" untill I have a manageable number 500-1k for any one craft. The i sort the leather by turn-in/keeper and the smithy the same way. The i keep them locked own within reach of my resource container(comm box) and forge/anvil. This sytem leaves me with 1 500 book(100 items) of keeper smith and 1 500 of keeper tailor bods. Then 2 500 books of each for turn ins. thats a totla of 600 item counts on my house. Some may say thats alot. Some may even think I dont have enough but, to me thats the manageable number for my crafting house.

I have the second account/house for suits/jewelry/consumables that is always maxed out I also use this house a depot for items for sale on my vendors. I end up tossing decent-good items out every so often to make room for better than i have stuffs. I dont really decorate any of my houses as those lockdowns are better put to use and proper storage for useful items. Everything in my houses is common to utility as utility is an aesthetic to me.

I dont run the bod vendors(no-sale) because i think its kind of guawdy and hate to see even parrots on players houses as I tend to check every vendor i happen to walk by.

So, if I use vendors to store my bods, then no lockdown spaces are used at all? It is an interesting idea, although at this time I don't really need the space for anything else, as I also have a keep and my hubby has 18x18s for his chars.

A long time ago, secures used to take a full 125 items whether or not they were full. That changed quite some time ago and now secures only take up the amount of space needed to hold what is in them (i.e. an empty house with one secure that has 5 items in it will take up 6 storage, 1 for container and 5 for the items in it). So the only difference between locking the books down directly and using secures is the item count of the secure containers themselves. So if you need 5 secures to store your bod books it will take 5 more storage than if you lock them down outside of containers.

As for organization, I use one book for each piece type , both large and small (so for platemail, I have 7 books, for ringmail 5 books, male leather 7 books, etc.) I keep a secure for each large type above (sometimes two if I have a lot of pieces). Non-combinable smith go in a single book and then I have a variety of books for unsorted, cloth singles that I won't combine, and iron singles I won't combine.

Actually, Xevious, I found that keeping all my books in secure containers took less space than when I had some in containers and some locked down. Before i reorganized my bod books, I had most of them in secure containers, but I also had around a dozen just locked down on the floor. I had around 400 and some lockdowns left. I added several more secure containers and put all the books in them. I don't have any books on the floor and now I have over 1000 lockdowns left.

So, it definitely is better to store bods in secure containers than keep then locked down on the floor.

Even if your house were set to public you can still lock your front doors... and the interior ones if you get spawn in your courtyard.

Besides restricting access to your front doors, you can also set a couple of vendors in front of the doors. That way you can walk through the vendors but monsters can't.

I sort my BODS in the exact same fashion, but STORE them on blue beetles 3 of my somewhat inactive characters ride. I live in Felucca and don't want to make my house public... my house used to be owned by a PK guild.

Have no choice but to store them on vendors I just have way too many for my homes hell I almost ran out of venders for them especially you have to save them till you actually get the smalls to fill them.

Here's an Idea for a SP player...

Find someone that runs a trustworthy vendor house. Do a rental contract, auto-renewing, for some vendors, at a price you're willing to pay for storage.

Store all your high-end BODs at home, and perhaps one of each mid-range BOD and the ones that you'll be cycling. Store your extra mid/low range ones on the rented vendor(s), and price them in the BOD books at a price that is high enough to where it wouldn't break your heart for someone to buy your "stored" BODs (your fellow crafters might even pay for your storage, that way).

When you need to get some BODs off the vendor, just buy them out of your own book (one of the few ways to buy off your own vendor is via BOD Books), and then send the gold right back to your bank.
