How do you page on....

I have tried the harassment way but the person is obviously not online because even typing in the name does not work. It says player can't be found and to try typing again.

Then I decided o.k. I'll try other but in other they told me that it is harassment and I need to do it that way.

I'm not one to be ugly about stuff. I'm probably one of the nicer players and I just want this "junk" gone.

Just an example - If a house around yours had a swastika on it and you were offended, how do you page on them?

Well can you target yourself. Sounds silly but you could stand there. I know I have also paged GMs when I lost things and they came.

Ill look when I get home but there is a way to do it.

YOu should be able to just page the regular way ... but that takes forever.

I think the matter in question DOES need to be resolved... as your not alone in being offended.

My example is just that....it's an example it is NOT what is happening in this specific house but I tried to come up with something that would prove my point. I can assure you I am not alone in being offended by this house either but I still can't seem to get through to the gms.

Hi

Just mouse over the house sign, and get the owner's name from that and then page - and type the name in. That should work.
You could also get a sextant or coordinates some other way and use them in the page also.

Just a few suggestions! That should work though since the owner's name should exist (one would hope!).

How about get the persons name, what it is that is offensive... the co-ordinates of the house.... and PM one of the DEV's... or something.... perhaps that will get a response.

nope the name on sign should be legal name unless they did a name change(not sure if that works)

Why not just try the normal paging then? Clearly the harassment one wont work as you just stated because there is no one to target. Of course an offensive display in a house doesn't really qualify as harassment, it just qualifies as offensive, lol. It's not a bug, so what else can you choose from? A normal page. So just try it and word it clearly.

I can see if the "offensive" thing was aimed at you directly, but it sounds like it's not........instead of racking your brains trying to page a GM.....write to EA directly. Try a phone call too......

I understand there can be things displayed that are just plain sick and vulgar, and without knowing, whose to say?

Might be the way wording your page. try this Im at a players home on (shard),and this person has something vile on display. and put the coords in.
Gm is picking your page up as harassment because you are saying your offended. the gm thinks a player is offending you,and not something on display in this players house.

Personally I know it wouldn't bother me (I don't know what it was, but it wouldn't bother me), but there are kids that play this game as well as people from the midwest. So maybe not everyone get all freedom-of-speechy over it.

The house infront of Mariam's had parrots that had very vulgar things being said about me...

It took Mariam, myself (On the char that was being slandered by parrots) and another guild member all paging. It was resolved shortly after. Thank you to the EA staff and thanks to you all for all your suggestions.

Most of all, Thank you Mariam for spending so much time seeing that this was taken care of and standing by me 100%. Love you lady...you are the best!

P.S The parrots were renamed to "Changed By EA Staff"

as to my earlier post I my self find swastika and cant bare to look at them even though they have many meanings I find myself being reminded of a horrific event that should have never happened.

I have played since sep of 99 and I once seen a item locked down in a players house that said "N***** killer" and of all people to own it was a police officer in CA (must have worked for LA PD it was sickening and extremely offensive to me. not long after i seen it he got BAND

and as to those that talk about freedom of speech I say F*** you

this is a game WE ALL SHOULD ENJOY not just YOU get it

I was mostly kidding with my post though I do find offensive owened by ea signs . Im from new york and assume most people like me from any city has gone through quiete a bit.Well from all the violence ive seen-commited all the words that are used in a daily basis from 3 year olds to 90 year olds not to mention racist comments ive recieved in person and discrimination from police and abused of power I belive am pretty immune to any type of naughty thing that might be posted in UO unless it specificaly mentions my name and is target directed to me. Actually at this moment am surprised that PETA is not trying to protect the turkeys right now.
