at a certain point (I'm thinking 120 months) they should make that the best reward you can get and after that you get 3 picks instead of 2...

These rewards are for long standing veteran players, and I am welling to bet a very large deal more than five percent of that player group finds enormous value in these selections. Thanks Devs.
Well, here's the thing... unlike some of the other veteran rewards of the past, if I claim a set of these tokens (after I talk to EA and figure out where 2 missing months have gone...), I can then turn around and sell them to anyone for their use, so it's not a "only 12th year vets can use this" type of reward.
As far as whether it helps 5% of the playerbase or more, it's simply a nice gift that allows for moving between homes. It's not a game-breaking advantage, in fact, all it does is replace a recall rune.
As far as veteran rewards go, it's pretty cool. And personally, being a 12 year veteran, I look forward to the annual "Hey, here's a little something extra for playing this long!" On customer service levels, it's a very, very nice token of appreciation.
That said, I also look forward to other year rewards... the crystal whatever it is that transports you to banks or moongates is pretty cool too.

The game is barely 12 years old, and I'm sure some accounts are that old but very few. Eventually many more will be but by the time year 13, 14 etc come around each year some smaller percentage will meet the requirements for age... Yeah I'm Massively bummed about it being a 12year thing. Wish I kept my oldest account open longer over the last 12years. Oh well looks like ill just have to buy one for like $500.

Honestly, what would be the down side of making all the good stuff years 8-10 and medium 5-7 etc... and starting in year 11 you begin to get 3 picks a year?
There would be more of these tiles available on each shard, and more people could get them. Also people getting 3 picks a year wouldn't feel as bad using a "11th year pick on a 1st year item" or whatever because they are generating more picks overall.

Not to hijack but all of the new veteran reward gifts are awesome. Ironically I JUST turned 60 months today and got me a crystal teleporter. Now that is a nice anniversary item...Was gonna get me a new ethy or a soulstone but this is SOOOOOOOOOO much better...all i said was ter mur mint and boom off i went.
I just got to say KUDOS to the dev team (especially Sakkarah) for the awesome expansion and the great gifts...this may be the best dev team yet.

ya i feel the same way i started in late 99 played until 01 and gave away the acc now i have been back 6 years on 2 other acc and i have a 3rd thats almost 2 now and have had others on and off people say its for vets and how much they have paid well i have payed for 3 acc for almost 6 players and have bought all the upgrades and eye candy ea has offered i feel they should at least make them available on uo codes. after all they new they would be a hot item and useful to make them so anyone could use them not to mention most vets have 2 homes i have 3
