Sadly, it's a bug that has been around for a while now. I've seen several other similar posts here.
Not really anything you can do not except to trade the house to another person - and back, or I think you could safely drop both plots and replace the one you want to keep - but it means a lot of moving first!

this bug is particularly annoying when you can get, every single time, the warning gump on test center where it really doesn't matter at all.... and I don't know about the rest of ya, but I always opt of out of placing there and sit back in my chair and think "what if they really mean it this time?"...... and then, on your home shard, where you have a completed, decorated and stuffed to the gills with treasures and trash house, you don't get a warning gump at all, you simply get another house
You can move everything to the plot you DON'T want. Then at your original house stand under the house sign and say the "I wish to resize my plot" command. Then replace your original house, you'll have about an hour safe time where only you can place there. That will condemn the plot you didn't want anyway, so be sure to move all your stuff back to the original house before it IDoCs. Hope that helps!!
Kafka - not sure that will work. As far as I know, you can't resize a condemned house. And becuase you have briefly owned 2 houses at the same time, the "week timer" kicks in. I think the only option is to drop the new (unwanted) house, move all your stuff out of your condemned house into your character banks/packs, then drop the condemned house and replace it. This should work unless you're in a high traffic area. This happened to me but my accidentally condemned house was in Zento. I had to open up a closed account to trade the condemned house to because I was afraid of dropping it and having someone else stealth in and place. major PITA.
