House Pets/Guests

Old idea, just thought I would bring it up again. Basically you tame a pet, then take it home, and use some sort of method to make it a "house pet" making it yellow, and free to roam around your house.

I would also take it a step further, and have some method to have ANY creature become a house pet (or guest if you will), maybe have it be a rare drop on every monster. A house guest deed or some such.

It could bring more life to theme houses like orc forts (orcs of course), haunted houses (roaming specters, and zombies), Evil player houses (Evil mage lords, Demons etc) and on and on. And finally you could actually have a giant spider present in a house full of giant webs!

I'm not sure they could make it so it wont leave the house easily, but I think this would be a great addition, something else to help people customize their homes.

It could be a cool system to mess around with.

I've actually suggested this many times. I wanted to have like a small box that you could go get a creature and double click the box click the creature you want be it a dog, cat, rat, bat, spider.. something of that nature even a wolf if you want..

Then you place the box in your house and it basicly would become a "home" for your "Pet" and the pet would then have free access to your house. And yes it would have to be yellow or something so monsters don't attack it... and so you couldn't use it to train anything .... but the pet would then be part of the house free to roam about and make noise like it normally would...

I personally love the idea of having a house pet. Though I'm beting Servern would not allow Malag to have a pet spider.

This sounds like a terrific idea. It's similar to what we have now with the personal attendants, or even parrots, but more developed and more interesting. I'd love to have a pet rat wandering around my house, or a raven, hmmm...

I always wanted a spider running around my house since all of my homes are always dilapidated and full of webs etc.

Aye - I was thinking about this very subject over the weekend. All the past "house pet" ideas. Glad to see I am not the only one who likes theses ideas!

having just acquired a kitten last saturday, i definately like this idea! Then i could take out all my "new mommy" frustrations out on it in the virtual world! This kitten is going to think his name is "Zac, No!" rolleyes:rolleyes:

Had that in Farmtown, they never left the property. It was kinda cool to hear a cat or sheep now & then, a dove would be nice. and they weren't blockable
