House Decay Issues...

Anyone else noticing decaying houses,at least on Siege, falling early in the decay process? I've noticed at least 4 recently that fell during the somewhat and fairly worn stages... long before they ever become IDOC. What gives?!

Is this happening on other shards?

Siege is being changed into a classic shard and they are getting rid of all the unused housing before they do this? :stir:

I can only comment for what I have observed on Europa but the fact a house goes into decay does not always mean it will go Idoc and fall. Many times these are houses of people moving and they are often demolished by owners long before the idoc stage.

I have followed idocs for a long time now and whilst I have known a house fall during the decay stage it is very very rare. The only exception to this is houses owned by OSI which have been through the full cycle. These do indeed fall at any time.

I am aware that players can drop/move houses and I have been watching decaying houses in the past where that has happened.

Two of the houses I mentioned above belonged to a guildmate that I know for a fact, is no longer playing. I also know for a fact that the house fell and several players who looted the contents. These two houses FOR SURE fell during the fairly worn stage. There is no question about it.

Another of the houses also belongs to someone who is no longer playing and no longer paying that account, but I do not know who, if anyone, did that IDOC.

The fourth house spot has gozas and a water trough still hanging about... seems like it decayed, but I can't be 100% certain. I'll give ya that one! :)

In any case, I was checking all of them daily... there is definitely something amiss, because my guildmates houses definitely fell in the fairly worn stage.

I also have a current guildmate that placed a new house a few months back, which put his Luna house in decay. He thought he had time to sell it, but it fell about 2-3 days into the decay phase. That was a huge surprise to us and a huge win for the guy that got it.

There is definitely something fishy going on in the land of IDOCS!

I have seen some oddities the past 2 weeks but not to dropping early, actually later. This past weekend one house fell almost 10 hours after it went IDOC instead of the normal 6:52. Yesterday a house fell 8 and a half hours after it went IDOC. I knew the IDOC time on both houses within 3 minutes. Prior to these, houses always fell right about at the 6:52 mark give or take a minute. Also had a Packing Crate with 133 items fall to the ground and it is just sitting there, no one can open it, take it or ax it. No GM response on that either

The neighbourhood watch of houses is well informed about the houses about
active players sites.

The last IDOC I did went through the normal pattern of of decay and IDOC
did fall just after six hour timer.

But, I noticed a small tower had already fell without that lengthy process...
worse, no one inside the fairly active keep next door saw it either until I
looted it of its most useful items. This was odd.

This makes me wonder if some form of account cleaning is associated with
the houses. The older house goes through the decaying but the secondary
accounts tied to the same person drops in more or less unision. Was these
houses multiple account holders? My record keeping shows pseudo named
owners.

I do travel about here and there and hardly ever see state of decays...yet
there have been houses dropping... perhaps I just unlucky.
When a house falls in the forest it does not make a sound, you just have to
be there to see it.

I will report again if I see this accelerated falling.

I have noticed that houses have been reverting statuses.
One day, the house is fairly, turns greatly, and then goes back to fairly. It's really weird.
Hasn't happened on many houses in the last few weeks, but for sure 2 on Pac.

Aye - I am not saying it aint happening because, as I said, I too have known it to occur. My comments were solely based on my current experiences on Europa where it does not seem to be happening.

Having said all that I have seen some strange things happen at idocs over the years so what you describe might be like them, just some temporary glitch. Hope so anyway.

If you are asking if the player had more than one account, then yes, I know for sure 2 of these houses that decayed early, fit that bill.

The last IDOC I did on Siege fell about 8 hours after it should have. It went IDOC at like 3am...the normal time. Didn't fall until 7-8pm that day. So that's like twice the amount of time it should have went through...

These threads are funny...so much mis-information.

The houses that cycle back to earlier status - more than likely these are houses that had vendors. They will continue to decay and then refresh until the vendor contracts run out. This could be up to a month.

The houses that fall at odd times - these are likely houses that someone caused to decay by placing another house. If so they start decaying at the time the next house is placed and then fall at the same time + X as a regular cycle.

The ones that fall because an account when inactive fall at approx the same time because the server runs a script to put houses in decay at same time each day and thus they all get marked at 'approx' the same time. Now the total time decay depends on location. Some servers cycle/decay faster. They essentially go through all items and decide what gets 'ticked' or marked for decay and the more items on a subserver - the longer the 'ticking' process takes. At least, that is how it was explained in the past.

To the houses that fell 'early' it could also be someone simply comes by and decides to 'drop' the house because they are the owner.

I've done this when moving before - place new house, move important stuff, drop old house when done and some stuff falls to the ground.

Ok, thats my .02. Carry on....

Or maybe that isn't the case since those particular house owners, according to my guild roster, haven't logged in since 2008. rolleyes:
