well there is less then 10 of you guys left.
soon there will be none. have fun killing the same old players tell there gone.
LOL and you blame the crafters, because there not making suits.
The PvP people need to take the blame.
Everyone that use to played or move to other shard can't be all wrong.
I was just trying to fix the problem. but less then 10 more to go.

Actually there are more than 10 left, but thank you for the proactive comment.
Arrr has actually grown by 3 people this month, the guild is not shrinking or dieing.
I do not have a problem with your buy back plan, I would be happy to put it to a vote to our members.
Like you, I have lost alot of gear to someone that does not return it, but I do not think they are going to change.
It actually got bad enough to make me start looting, but that is just a select group.

Let me know if I can help.

Yep thats why I said in another post I think it is best to loot lightly and only take what you need to disarm a person or what you will actually use. I typically do not touch new players stuff. I mean most of them donlt have anything I want anyway.
I believe that will be a good way to go. If you don't need their suit, let them keep it. If farmers, looting their loot bag, resources, gold, they have gainded on their hunt won't hurt as much as looting their suit as alot players have hard replacing several suits a week. Remember you may not be the only one killing them.
I can see, if they are trying to PvP, the suit may be the only valuable on them and if they don't do some farming to get gold for the new suit, they may end up leaving after loosing some suits.
Also when trying to PvP, most will want to use a better suit, than for farming and not being able to keep it as their skills and PvP skill still may be low.

My advice to players, who want to try out PvP is to make a guild, set up rules for their guild and be sure to make them public. If a PvP guild is known for light looting, it may pay of, when they get looted.

I remember when J-D started here and later the Blackoak Brigands, they was both complaining, that they got looted alot and on same time, other guilds was complaining about their heavy looting. I tryed to explain to them, that if they was heavy looting their enemies, they would get heavy looted themself.
Both guild told me, they needed the loot as they died alot and did lose alot.
I told them to loot less and run less expensive gear as that would work better.

I believe that still will work. Also more will be willing to put up a fight against someone if they know, they won't lose everything.
I started a garg, with myst and shrowing and I can see, they can be a problem, as they won't have anything else than their suit of value. In old days, most at least had bandages, arrows, a regs or potions bag for the killer.

I think we really need a sticky guild thread here with main info about the guild.

I'd like to see that as a new (returnee) player to Siege, I'd love to start to get to know some folks and go hunting and find out what the different guilds are about, you can only pick so much up from General chat. I'm not the social butterfly type, so it's better for people like me to have a clue what the different guilds are into before we start flirting :p.

If I do join a guild, I'm a loyal kinda person and I'd join for the duration. I wanna make sure I make the right choice heh.

Cheers,

I remember old days, when we had the Orc clans, we knew, we could go fighting them, and they would only loot items an orc was allowed to use. We also knew, if they yelled Gib Tributs, some gold, ciders or food could save your life.

I would like to see more RP like that.

If a char, that be a newbie or a old non PvP char or a vannabe PvP char get attacked, he may stay and try to fight, if he know, that attacker won't dry loot him, even when he may lose his gold or loot bag or shoes or something else.

I loved reading that about the Orcs, would love to see more like that too.

I kinda do a reverse version, I carry a few items in my backpack just in case I'm caught off guard and get killed. Obviously I carry a pair of shoes for one of our murderers (a very nice pair btw). I carry a dozen Shame crystals for another one. I carry a couple of Treasure maps and booze in a pouch with a note for any other pirates who might get me.

I've yet to discover who all the murderers are and what they might enjoy looting off me. I hope it gives them a chuckle when they do :).

Cheers,

Yes but they will fast be known for doing that. There will always be a few bad apples between new players too. I find it better to punish the bad ones and go easy on the rest.
Just remember to tell them why they got heave looted

seems to be an open topic so ill reply,

i do not think the above mentioned system will work, as people have already stated. certain people will not follow suit, and then we will end up in a tit for tat scenario,

all i can say is, ive been prodo's for 10 years, never pvp'd, been seige 3 weeks, and ok i have the NEW2 guild above my head so it might get worse from here on in, but ive died three times since moving here, a guy from the FYOU guild, and twice bliss, the first time i didnt even go back to my body fully expecting to be dry looted, as it turned out i was not looted at all! and the body decayed, the second and third times was light loot, and actually all i can say is ive left all three encounters without a sour taste in my mouth and actually a good oppinion of the pk's here, but, i expect to be looted? or what is the point in player killers being here? its not all about an adrenaline rush for everyone,

all i can say is from my view, i do not see the pk's scaring of new players, even if they did dry loot, the fact of the matter is, if a new player is scared of by some deaths, they are wearing items they can not afford to loose, bad move,

now dont get me wrong, there is a certain point that dry looting "can" hurt a new player, but is that not why we have guilds like NEW2 covering the gap where even an lrc suit is a pain for a new player to obtain?

and aside from new2, speak to other crafters, no lie ive been given, yes given, more items in three weeks from helpful players on seige, than a lifetime in europa,

I don't think young crafters and monster killers are hurt so much of some killing as they don't need maxed out suits.
The problem is, when someone want to PvP and want to try to stay alive instead of always dying.
To stay alive you need high skills, good armor and weapon and know how about PvP.

The younger player, graduated from NEW2, now buy an expensive suit to try to PvP. He is born in Trammel and PvP is new for him, much different from fignting high lever mobs and his skills are not yet maxed out.

He may have earned a mill + before he start, but it do not take many lost PvP suits, before he is out of gold.

My advice, if you are new to PvP, find a PvP guild, do some training with them to get a little feeling with PvP and maybe run with a friend and learn to heal each others.

If you not want to be agressore in PvP, find a few PvP friends, red or blue and train with them, alot will agree to some duels without looting to help you.

Also before you try to try to stay alive and kill someone in PvP, be sure you can afford to lose your suit, else it is better to use a cheaper suit and accept, you may die alot, before you success killing your first red or blue PvP player.
