Honoring Medusa

I know you can get the bright scales from medusa if you skin her alive.

I was wondering if you could honor yourself when she pops...walk up and skin her or if that constituted an attack?

I know I used Ethy Voyage to get my scales, sometimes she wont turn and attack you till after a few attempts to get scales. I would think honor would work the same. I believe you can fail and itll poison you or something, if that happens itll take you out of ignore mode.
