I'm making a comeback after a couple years off, and I took my kid to a dungeon to show him around. I thought we'd work up some Honor, but when I tried to honor a monster I got a message saying you could only Honor players now?

Is this the only change or does Honor otherwise work like it used to?

Thanks!

There hasn't been any changes to honor. Are you sure it didn't say that you "could not" honor another player? I've never, ever, seen one that said you could. It always says you can't. I'm guessing you'd x-healed your kid, then tried to honor, with the targeting system picking up your kid as the current target and trying to honor him. Try again, making sure your targeting is cleared, using the UO macro if you have it set up, and I bet you get it to work right.

... did you actually type "I honor thee"?

Hehe, you're supposed to build a macro for it, or toggle it manually from the virtues gump.

I made a pretty cool auto-honor macro, for both my tamer and my archer in the Enhanced Client.

I'm at work so I can't tell you the specifics, but I think it was:

Create a new macro
Drag Honor icon to macro, right click choose target by cursor
Then use the 'attack target' macro, or 'all kill' with use last target

I also have another Macro which basically targets the nearest enemy.

So when fighting crap I can quickly target with one key, then honor and attack with the second. It's pretty sa-weeeeeet

Also EC just added 'use last weapon' support

UO Assist for $15 bucks can byte me cause I aint nibblin them bits ;D

Not sure if my EC was in a flaky state last night or not, but my honor macro which had been working fine before the latest patch no longer worked. I even tried manually targeting a monster with honor and got no results.

Just curious if anyone else has noticed a difference since the patch or if it was just something whacky with my client.

More than likely you need to insert some delays in there. Adding delays seems to help where Macros mess up.

I monkied with it last night and the exact specifics are in this EC macros thread.

http://vboards.stratics.com/showthread.php?t=148688

First Macro (f1)
Target Next Enemy

Second Macro (f2)
Honor, Wait for Target, Cursor Target Current, Attack Current Target, Curse Weapon, Delay 1.6 (Might depend on your FC/FCR), Confidence, Delay .4, Lightning Strike

Now thats for a spirit speak driven Sampire. If you dont have those abilities you can boil it down to the basics and truncate after 'attack current target'

Damn handy macro I gotta say

Thanks JD - my setup is pretty similar, although I have the two macros you mention combined into one. It's pretty nice, although I've noticed sometimes the "target next enemy" chooses a nearby animal instead of the monster I want, often even though the monster is obviously closer to my character than the animal. Kind of frustrating.

yeah thats why I separated it, so I can toggle through targets til I find one I wanna kill

plus if you ever get in a PVP situation you dont want to automatically be attacking people.. you'll want someone calling targets and you can toggle through and select the right one

Makes a lot of sense. Thanks JD!
