Sounds like it'll be items on the ground.
I have a concern about Honesty. Won't buying stuff from NPCs at a discount still artificially raise NPC prices on merchandise which gets more expensive, like Iron Ingots? Won't Honesty screw noobs or those without Honesty who want to buy stuff? Just a thought I had.
I really like the idea of Honesty, I just wonder if there could have been a better reward. I'm also a bit annoyed about the decay rate change...it be sort of nice if a dev posted the previous decay rates...or if anyone knows them? Seems like Honor used to have a very slow decay rate.

I definitely like the Honesty virtue at least in concept, and it seems like a reasonable thing to work with during normal PvM runs and adventuring as well.
It's a decent mini-quest that fits into the theme of the Virtue itself. We'll have to see how the reward works out though.

Good idea, horrible outcome. NPC discounts? The person that came up with that end result should be fired next.

Fish pies: worthless
Trap Lobsters: A waste of time , one of the most boring things in the game, worse than mining.
Use Regs: 100% LRC suits (no need) , make spell books complete (whoopee), POTS (some use there)
Overall, its a fail of an idea. Next...

I like it as well and look forward to more of the virtues being worked in.
I'd like to see them incorporate parts of the stand-alone Ultima games as quests of some sorts, especially since GOG released Ultima IV for free today.
Fish pies are not useless. Especially not on siege where its hard to have DCI and HCI at caps all of the time.
Just because you don't care about the fishing quests doesn't mean other people don't.
Using regs ups your sdi, not to mention using them to make potions, or for things like curse weapon on a necro warrior when you dont have room for lrc.
Overall YOU don't like it.

Regs are not that expensive. You don't need a whole quest devoted to lowering their price or any NPC wares.

If we have to hunt for items on the ground it is going to be a long haul getting to Knight of Honesty! *laughs* So far I have only found regs on the ground..the search continues!

On Siege they're double price, and gold's more scarce.

I found an item in Moonglow on the ground, brought it to the bank and turned it in.
I SS'd it but forgot to paste into paint :/
Am searching for more now.
But yes they are laying about on the ground in Tram and Fel, have yet to find anything in fel though.

It will be interesting to see (on prodo shards, not on Siege) if the NPC price discounts reach a point where you're able to turn a small profit from buying items to fill junk BODs (i.e. iron weapons) and turn them in... it'd make that more of a feasible pasttime than the system I'm using now
I'll probably be handing over any lost items to my smithing character for that purpose.

It was on the road near the moongate, it was hard to see, dark color, a piece of armor and on the very bottom it said *Lost item* then a name
Still tryin to find more, I'm just going along roads.
But really... do you expect any kind of reward for honesty? I guess I'm not alone in finding it appealing.
Try the Ctrl-shift to bring up item tags. Thats always helpful finding stuff thats on the ground like blackrock.

Ahh I forgot about that! That will help, that way I can search everywhere.
So far I've only found one, so I think the people complaining about *cheap npc items* and all that won't have to worry if this is the only way to gain honesty lol.
Unless they make more spawns on prodo shards.

Just in that mood i guess, my apologies.
I found one! yay!! Now I am trying to find it's owner. I wonder how much forensics you need to identify the owner? So far at 50 after many tries , it told me the town name.

I didnt notice the name of the owner and town until I used forensics on it (I had it set to GM). When I set it to 50, it only gave me the town name. Now the bad thing is when I turned it in in the proper town (because I coulndt find the owner anywhere), I didnt even get one dot!
Based on the amount of time it takes to find something and since most likely I wont have the use of forensics, it is going to take looooooong time! I like the way it works though. they just need to put out more lost items!

The amount of honesty you get might be based on the item.
From Bazer's pic, it looked like it had stats, which means a better item might rewards more honesty (since you're being honest and giving it back, resisting the greater temptation of a better item would be "more" honest).
So even taking it to the owner, if it's a crap item you mightn't get much at all.
Does the forensics have to be done on the character that turns it in? Or could a forensicist (technical term) technically offer their services to folk?

Hmmm that would be a help if there are some better items out there to give you a bigger boost. That being said, I wonder what happens to the item after the 3 hours is up? Does it retain the properties I wonder? If the items are too nice, it will be even harder to find them!
I am hoping that someone else can perform forensics on the items but I will have to have someone trained to do it for me..I am just a poor warrior! I cannot afford to pay someone!! *grins* Could be a new profession for someone though.

Have to say I applaud the team for addressing one of the missing virtues. In theory it seems pretty cool. I know a certain someone that will love the lower reg prices for making pots. IMHO, potions alone make it worthwhile. Plus, I like how they brought a useless/unused skill back into the game at least a lil bit.

Back when Alacrity Scrolls had had their first main run, I heard a rumour that there was going to be some love given to Forensics.
I went out and bought a bunch for like 25k per... and I've been sitting on them ever since... Waiting...

ahh reduced price on saltpeter about time!! now if we could only get say 20 more alcamists that sell the stuff it might be worth buying again!

One of mine was a yellow named peasant.
That would certainly be more fun than the grind I foresee in my future *laughs*I can already think of a fun event. I let everyone search for a hour for honesty items. and the person who bring most gets them all.

I've come across two peasants as well.
The odd thing is that I came back later and one was replaced by a noble. Guess it's dynamic or something?
So I went to test out Honesty. Started looking in Fel. About 15 mins in I found a small shield just south of Brit in the woods.
Turn Fornsics up. 0 Forensics gave nothing (apparently you can't gain Forensics using the skill on the items), set to 20.1 gave nothing, set it to gm and it sent me to Marshall? in Minoc. Hand it too him. No gain message, no dots.
Continued looking and looking and looking, gave up after covering half of fel and went to trammel, nothing again.
I guess Honesty isn't the best policy...
It was nice not seeing half the land covered in a decades worth of leftover solen hole debris though.
