Holy strange batman !!

So I just logged in today on my dexer getting my char ready to do some hunting. I'm going through some containers and stuff then all of a sudden, a message appears in the bottom left corner of my screen. It says something like, ' you have gained a lot of fame' ...mind you, I literally just logged in, didn't fight a single thing yet, and I get the message.

It gets stranger yet.

I'm in my house in fel getting ready, so just after I see that message, I go outside to see if there's some fighting going on anywhere,...not a soul. Then, a red priest makes a bullet line towards me along with about 6-8 other creatures....a panther, a hind, a giant turkey and some other critters. They surround me, but don't attack. I push my way through and they all start following me! I walk around my house and they're right at my toes. I cross a nearby server line and they continue to follow, and then more begin to make a congo line with me !

Still stranger!

All this time, my character is going in and out of running mode despite the location of my cursor.

...Playing as I type this, I just went ahead and attacked the turkey knowing full well I'll get killed. Now rezzed up, the followers have stopped and my character is now as he should be, running constantly.

The only thing I've done different since I last played (last night) I logged out with the Cloak of Corruption on me, karma thing.

This ever happen to you or you hear similar?

I think the Cloak of Corruption was/is supposed to make all wild animals attack you?

Something like up to 30 or 35 tiles you can pull stuff.

If that's the case, then something is wrong, none of them are attacking, and just a little while ago, I logged back in after doing some stuff, and again, I had an entourage about me. I had walked by several other vermin and they didn't budge, but this few handful of devotee's continue their persistent pace behind me.

Sounds a bit like the bug(?) where :

You are targetted by a monster and recall out.
The monster keeps moving (super fast) to your corresponding location on the other server.
If you then go back to the same server, even though it has lost combat targetting, it will still keep moving really fast to be next to you. (Even if you are stealthing!)

Perhaps something similar anyway?

ie. you log out with the cloak on?
When you log in (initially with cloak on?) the furry beasties target you and begin moving towards you.
You take the cloak off.
The wildlife no longer wishes to attack, but continues to follow?

It's nearly exactly like that. I've had that happen over and over again. Yet it doesn't explain why they're doing it. These are bears and birds, hinds and the such, creatures I won't waste time on, yet, they're seemingly starving for my attention! lol

LMAO! That rocks! I recently had the same thing happen with a Turkey. Freaked me out... I was luring it up to another one to provoke them and I hit a tree and managed to take a hit. I hauled ethy tail away to invis to lose the aggro but it was moving too fast so I kept going. I got a good distance away and hit invis.

I went back to try again and as soon as I was on screen with it... it practically teleported to me. I ran... thinking maybe it had not lost the aggro... it ran after me. Just like a tamed Greater Dragon. After two server lines and getting hung up once and realizing it wasn't going to hit me... I gave up and recalled out. I felt bad for leaving the poor thing but thats not a close friend I want changing it's mind.

Interesting glitch if you ask me. I almost ran it into a town so I could fake having tamed it. But figured someone would just page a GM and accuse me of running some new hack. Sometimes this game does some pretty odd things.

This happens a lot to me with monsters. I run and invis, or run outta the dungeon, and stealth back in, and it follows me right tight.

OH NO! And I freaked on the turkey... I'd have hyperventilated! I get all nervous just getting near where he is! That guy scares me!

This is common with prepatch cloaks.. if you wear them for great lengths of time yes your karma will drop and fame will increase slowly.

Also yes NPCs/Healers and animals will follow you..

not a bug or uncommon.

I've noticed a bug with turkeys crossing server lines after being attacked. They seem to get uber speed like 2x or 4x that of a paragon. I can't outrun them even after switching b/f with my ninja and ethy.

I just laugh it off and die.

But perhaps this may be related?

It might be an em or dev messing with you they used to do that kind of stuff in the old days.

Back right after EMs got assigned to shards the last time a guild mate went to the brit counsilor hall and an animal trainer started following her I came to watch and we got it back to the player run town north of trinsic. And got it locked in a house haha.

i have a guild mate who sees black helicopters everywhere.

they are allways convinced someone is watching them.

i use to train med and focus by putting on one of those robes and hide in the house and let the gains roll in.

and of course the side effect is that i a hour or so you have every brigand and animal within half a server surrounding your house.

Sometimes I feel sad I missed the days of AW & Dragons using polymorph, and being "Mystic Llama Herders" to waylay the unwary red that attacks them thinking they were an easy Player mark.

Give us back overland spawn worth mentioning in the older facets (Tram, Fel, and Malas), since Tokuno and Ter Mer have such spawn.
