Hit Lower Defense - Does it stack!?

eg. weapon = 40% hld & your mace and sheilds = 30%

would that stack to 70% hld?

i couldn't find any information on it & thought someone here may know the answer...

Yes it does.
I was told they changed it so it didn't sometime between January and August but I could never find anything on it. So I still say it does too. But I was told it doesn't by fairly reliable guildmates that are very into mechanics. Again at this point I still have to disagree with them :)

I don't think it stacks to 70% if you have a weapon and mace glasses.

It stacks but its not the full amount.

I believe Draconi made a post about it a while back.

My understanding was it's two separate rolls.
First for the weapon and if the rng doesn't ping the hld then it rolls again for another chance bc of the glasses.

The percentage to go-off stacks, but the actual effect doesn't stack with itself. Only difference is, it's more likely to go off in 1 or 2 hits with 70% than 30% which'd go off in about 3 or 4 hits.

Can't vouch for whether it's (30+40)% or 30% + 40%
Second one being: Roll 3/10 chance, then roll a 4/10 chance, which i believe effectively equals a 1/2 chance.

I am in agreement with this poster. This was brought up a while back, and if I remember correctly the answer was 60%...per developer comment. (not sure if in FoF or HoC)

no need the reply of the devs, simply try to search in the playguide..

Hit Lower Defense - A successful hit with this weapon lowers the defense rating of the target by 25% for 8 seconds against all attackers. There is no cap on HLD. HLD percentages are multiplied rather than added - for example, if you have two items, one with a 30% chance and one with a 50% chance, then that?s a 65% chance that the effect will fire on any given hit. The effect does not stack with itself, although additional effects will reset the duration.
