Higher resolution game window for 2D

Just got a new monitor and the UO 2D window is now even tinier. It really needs a tweak to 2D to give a bigger window option, at least 1024x768.

I'm not asking the earth here either - this can already be done (allegedly) with a 3rd party app. If someone else can do it easily then surely EA can.

'fraid EA's response to this is gonna be "play KR."

Third party apps are a viable way to do this, and likely the only viable way for awhile to come.

* sighs* You are probably right. They will spend days putting chocolate ingredients on paragons (or whatever) and ignore for years something that players would really appreciate.

See, it's questions like this that I'd like to see answered in a HoC or FoF: "Are there any plans to increase the potential resolution of the gameplay window in the UO 2D client? Monitors today are much larger than they were 10 years ago." Questions like this are useful, as opposed to talking about some freaking pink rabbits or something. Shame they never seem to get pushed.

But yeah. KR obviously isn't a viable option so we're left with tiny gameplay windows for the mean time.

Yeah, really sad that EA encourages the use of cheating programms.
I admit I used it too when I played on EA servers.

*Happy looping* *sighs*

I would LOVE to have that tweak available in the 2D client. It's probably not realistic but man it sure would be nice!!

I tried the script with the script program to enhance the resolution once and it is quite unstable.

So I guess it is not that easy to enhance the resolution and your option will be KR.

Agreed.

This is my biggest pancake about 2D.

I play KR all the time because of this.

2D should have the same resolutions as KR.

Good luck..
I've been asking for this for 3 years. That's one of the reasons I *gasp* liked UO:3D. As it is now, you have to deal with the eye strain or get used to KR (if you can).

I'll second your motion though... pretty puhleeeeze at least 1024x768?

Fox, just mess with the windows desktop resolution settings. Right-click desktop, choose properties, choose settings. You will find one that stretches the 2d window to fit your monitor. Just go down in resolution.

Well the problem is usually that LCD screens look like crud running in anything but their native resolution. They aren't anywhere near as versatile as a CRT.

That depends. On my Samsung 242mp, 2d doesn't look too blurry when stretched to a non-native resolution. Not as sharp as correct native resolution, but the poster seemed interested in bigger size. Plus if graphics quality mattered, he would be playing in KR.
