Just to clarify the gentlemen's rule for everyone, if someone bids and they don't outbid you, you're ok. You only have to give notice if they outbid you, but their bid is insufficiently high for the minimum increment rules. So if you bid 200, and I bid 150, you don't need to give me notice. But if you bid 200, and I bid 201, the min increment at that point would be 5m, and my bid didn't meet that. That's where the gentlemen's rule would kick in. Before that rule, everyone was hunting for inadvertent errors long after the end of the auction. The gentlemen's rule basically says "if you say something at the time, then it's all good; everyone can fix it then. But if you don't say anything, then we ignore that the mins were missed, and we move on."Merlin looks like you won that to me, looks like someone underbid right at the time however Gentleman's rule gives them 10 minutes from your callout.
