Most times when I get attacked I just high tail it outa' there

and I was just wondering what my attacker thinks about that

do you wait and see if I come back to my hunting spot to attack me again?
I usually don't come back so I don't know if they wait

is it upsetting not getting a kill? or does it not matter at all?

do you make a point to remember my name and be sure not to let me get away next time?

I was just wondering how the other half thinks. I guess I find it interesting

this is why people use dismounts. Lessen the "high tailing".

it feels the same as any predator feels when their pray gets away, it is disappointing. You hunt all day, spend a lot of time looking/tracking for someone, and then... no kill. But it makes one only try harder, find another way to sneak up, find another way to improve the hunt.

People who run away from the fight are ruining siege. If they would stand there, and die then we wouldn't need dismounters! Heck, they should just put their loot in a bag, the idea of making someone coordinate an attack to take their items is outrageous!

gnight!

No, people use dismounts so they can get a worship thread.

Whether i get my kill or i force the person to hi-tail it outa there my job is done. and the next time said person roles around again it will be the same. I will try to get a kill or said person will get away,

Except for serious grudges people build in games, the random pk'ed people usually arent going to get targeted (not saying your area wont but most pk'ers are just there to do that pk, whether its you or someone else doesnt matter much).

[/ QUOTE ]THats what I would do, so I usually assume you are smart (I often have reinforcements standing ready, so if you stay to fight, you-dead)

I usually don't come back so I don't know if they wait

[/ QUOTE ]sometimes. No real system involved. Sometimes I wait around, sometimes I don't, but I almost always come back frequently soon after.

is it upsetting not getting a kill? or does it not matter at all?

[/ QUOTE ]Eh, the kill doesn't matter to me much, I go for loot. I have felt embarrassed though when it should have been an 'easy kill' and I do something stupid flubbing it up.

do you make a point to remember my name

[/ QUOTE ]I try to, but my memory is not that great

and be sure not to let me get away next time?

[/ QUOTE ]I was trying to be sure for you to not get away in first place:)

I was just wondering how the other half thinks. I guess I find it interesting

[/ QUOTE ]Hehe, pking is interesting. I am new to it in UO. Never really did it much when I used to play on chessy.
I started pking in other games, and continued my habits when I came here.
Its funny, I always feel very badly my first several kills... but, that feeling is quick to go away:) This is a game of risks and rewards - I contribute by being a risk:)

I wonder sometimes too.

I seldom actually get away, though it does happen sometimes.

I wonder:
What did my attacker think when I ran to the Oaks altar among all the pixies?

Do they even notice my name, never mind remember it?

Did my attacker yesterday wonder why I didn't die from his deadly poison?
(I'm assuming he hasn't totally changed his template and was therefore probably aware I carried no cure pots).

Are they disappointed, annoyed, resigned or amused to find I've nothing worth looting?

If they loot my armour, what do they do with it? It is only of use to an elf with no magery.

Which I suppose goes to show how full of irrelevant trivia my silly head is.

I wonder if my attacker ate egges for breakfast. Also, How would they feel if they knew I couldn't remeber there name? It usually happens like this.

here is how I envision how my attackers usually act/feel when they kill me

the stealth poisoner:
snickering little child, giggling at how they got me while I was at half health from the mob I was fighting

Mass ganker mixed group:
frat boys high-fiving each other, laughing boisterously, yelling out "DRINK DRINK DRINK"

lone attacker:
small smile, looking around room for someone to acknowledge their kill

2 person attack group:
yell out , "yea heaaa aa a ............. " then silence as they sift through the loot

disclaimer, this is in to way related to anybody on the shard or UO in general, this is meant for entertainment purposes only

Or then theres me:
Snickering while high-fiving myself yelling DRINK DRINK DRINK!!! only to fall silent while looking through the loot.

muwahahah

My only advice to give ya all, is stick around after getting pked. You may be surprised how many peeps will res you. And then, IF you do get res killed, so what? you were dead anyways, it was worth a shot.

I now it seems like a small thing to get res killed, but for the killed, its not
and usually after 3 or 4 res kills people usually stop waiting for the res

its simple enough to go get a res and come back to see if there is any loot left, people would rather do that than chance the demeaning taunts.

I have been around long enough that I don't care anymore, but I do still remember what it was like feeling worthless.

Do you think I don't ever die?
I bet I die more than you. I bet I lose more armor/jewels/reagents/etc in a week than the average person loses in a month. At least I am past the stage of going through 7-8 sets of armor in a single night...

Believe me, I know what it is like to get res killed. I didn't say wait for res, get res killed, then wait for res again. thats just silly. All I suggest is waiting for a res once. If it comes, cool. If it doesnt, oh well, you lost a minute of your time. If it comes and you get res killed, oh well, you lost a minute of your time.

I know many people won't res at all. I know many people will res and res kill over and over. But not everyone is like that, and even then, some people will res one time and not the other. It all depends.

Oh , and when I said 3 or 4 res kills, I didn't mean in a single session , I meant after 3 or 4 times getting killed and then res killed, people have a tendency of not accepting resurrections anymore
