Hello there, I am a very old player who has been retired for quite some time.. (I think my last login was 2007, and before that it was a long time) And I have reactivated today and bought the latest expansion and I am more then likely going to start on SP cause I don't want to go back to my other characters cause I think I will get bored quickly if I start out all powerful again lol.

So I guess this is my introduction, and is NEW still the guild to look for when coming here, some of the info seems outdated so I am just make sure...

If anyone is curious, I am going to be a crafter, this is the only game that really has ever done crafting right, and I am missing that, I want to craft, and have a vendor and such again, I miss it!.

If you're not going back to your old characters for the difficulty of it though, I'd suggest trying without NEW. Nothing against NEW, they are useful for most, but it seems ... odd... to give up your developed chars, and then accept NEW's help.

Well, I was thinking about looking to them for just the initial boost, I hadnt decided too much yet, I just reactivated a few mins ago, dont even have the client installed yet.

If you wanted the benefit of $$ from crafting and the ability to PvP you could do something like...

Swords
Tact
Bush
Parry
Resist
Imbue
Myst

Since with imbuing/myst you can cast a spell which puts a hit spell mod on your weapon. Just something to consider!

You need to work up Imbuing, it is like having unlitited crafting ability.

Go to test and make a 120 imbue char and have fun!

Imbuing training isn't really within the means of somebody asking for NEW assistance, I wouldn't think.

Actually it more then likely is, since I am not doing NEW assistance, not going to get help from anyone, and I have been looking at Imbuing, I think it would go well with what I am doing

I just mean that the cost of gems is going to be pretty tough on a new character.

Imbuing is bankrupting me even though I hunt for 50% of my gems, you need 1000s to hit RoT and amber and citrine at 150 per are the cheapest. You are going to need to find a guild or some money to get this skill up without many many hours of hunting. NEW is a great start for anyone from prodo shards it helped me

I found them for 104 each. Though average was 150 per.

Mining them can work, but its not quick enough. Id think if you hunted enough you could get lots of residue, and sell that maybe.

Yeah, I see what you guys are meaning about it being expensive, I am prolly not going to worry about Imuing until I at least hit GM mining, then getting that book from the Garg city that allows gem mining, and slowly work up Imb while doing other things as well.

Also guess I need to look for a good guild. Are there any crafters guilds or the like?

I think I have one of the mining books in my house if ya want it...when you get close to gm mining let me know. *course pay back may be any granite ya dig up IS to be given to me*

Guardians of MYTH guild is a very loose guild of nobody online hardly, but it possesses crafters and a few tamer mage sorts. A basic blue crafters mostly guild that I run ... A guild where no one uses icq, barely reads stratics except for me, nor will they be able to help save ya, out there. *They would have to be online more to do that or to... even attend a guild meeting, which they are not.*

But hey ya welcome to join, if ya do not mind being a loner, with a guild tag.

I have 4 chrs. here, 3 of em craft, ya welcome to stop by Mythic Treasures in E. Umbra and say hello. . to me, myself, and I ! I might give ya some shovels, hatchets etc. I got a gm tinkerer in my chrs. I might even let ya sell your ingots on the front steps.

Gilfane has a crafter's subguild - "House Vernia" - members can sell in our market, etc. Lots of great folks in Gilfane - always ready to lend a hand.

Well my thing when it comes to NEW is I don't want to abuse it because I really am not new, I logged in last night finally and saw where I was with things and I am better off then I thought, so I am good there, I dont actually remember playing here that much, but apparently I did. I am not hurting for sure.

If this are your first char on Siege, you are not abusing NEW.
Also the best you get from joining NEW is friends, you do not get alot of help in form of resources and items. Having someone to hang out with make it more fun.
New will help with basic gear and some tools, but not with resources like gems.

NEW is not a guild, where everything is handed to you, but a guild that help you with advices, your first horses, your first armor, weapon and tools or a new set GM armor/weapon if you got PK'ed.

NEW will also help you find the right guild when your month in NEW run out.
