Normally i play the 2d client because using the enhance client is usually very studdery for me. I decided to give it a spin just now and.. it's working smooth as anything! how weird is that?

When was the last time you tried before now? Since shortly after Halloween I have had zero troubles with it. I have been using the EC for a few months and have been loving every moment. I am glad that someone took the time to give it another try. If only more people would take the time like you did. Thanks for the post

Excuse a very basic question but have you checked your particle settings (detail and filter) in the game? Failing that, perhaps your video card settings under your operating system (for the client or global settings)?Wish I could say that....my spell graphics STILL don't work at all

I've been using the EC since it used to be called KR.
I think it's terribly funny that people assume that a few graphic downgrades make it anything other than what it is.
It's an excellent UI interface, no matter what label has been slapped on it.

Yes... Id settle with C64 graphics for gameplay if I can have this UI interface of the EC
Well.. maybe not.. but I like the ingame graphics as they are now.. actually I launched the CC to make some comparison screenshots for another thread and I was like... "huh wtf" when I saw the CC ingame graphics... sure some edges are sharper... but the rest.. ingame char and mounts looks very odd and I really cant see why people would want to play the CC purely for the graphics.... but thats just me

I was on it for a couple hours also yesterday. I was toying with the graphics settings. They are always on high and all for everything but I did change the Vsync thing. It wasn`t checked so I decided to see what it did.
I am no longer stuttery when I`m running at mount speed,it seemed to make everything a tad more crisp and definately made my movement alot better looking. By movement I mean the surrounding envirenment when your on the fly...it just looked blurred before.Quite nice now.
I can see me hopping up and down on my horse (even if he`s sittin sideways on the seat) and it looks alot less like gliding and more like riding.
Just a few things I have found/noticed that moved the EC a couple rungs up my ladder. I`m sure it`ll keep gettin better and better.
Using the Legacy 2 mod is also helpful. The only problems I had that made me go back to 2d was the lag. I was in T2A with a friend and I kept lagging out every few minutes. Other than that, I had alot of fun in the EC and it didn`t even give me a headache! I`ll be back for more.
Alot of peaple want the good graphics (this is 2009 right?) WITH a good UI. It IS an excellent UI. Unfortunatley this game doesn`t revolve around the UI.

I patched my EC as well, just this morning actually. I wanted to see what's been fixed and whats still under par =/
I have all my settings to low, Vsync clicked.. I go to move and cant...
It was like my char was stuck on some invisable wall. I finally got her moving and she was running as fast as I would walk on CC. Still very studdery on the lowest settings.
The terrain still looks watered down, my garlands for my Christmas deco contest house are all on the floor, I still cant click things properly.. I always have to try to click on them from underneath (if that makes sense)
My pets look like well, like crap still. The char movement seems awkward.
I could go on, but I wont.. *sigh* This is why I play the CC

How good is your computer? If you don't have a graphics card you probably won't be able to play it. It is a lot more demanding than the CC so you will also need a lot more RAM, UO EC uses upwards of 1GB (on my PC w/ everything on high) so you need to have a newer computer.

Not to sound like a ***** but my computer is only a year old now, has an upgraded graphics card, has more than enough RAM, memory or whatever it should need to run the EC.
Hmmm.. you perked my interest.. going to go try it out now...
Well.. I tried it again. It is definately better than it was. Almost playable. I can't find how to turn off pathfinding. If that can be adjusted then I would be willing to give it a better try. It is still a bit choppy for me but I'm sure it can be fixed with the adjustment of the graphics.. (or update my drivers which is overdue).

Well, I didn't make any adjustments at all from when it was stuttering to when it was playable. Apart from anything that was patched I DO have a theory. I'm thinking maybe it's stuttery at first because it caches house's etc? I did notice a slowdown when going into an area I hadn't been with EC, but when coming back to area a bit later it was totally smooth...
