Hello Catskills

I am thinking about moving to your shard and was wondering if anyone could answer a few questions for me.
How hard is it to place an 18x18?
How often do people RP? (ie only at em events or anywhere anytime)
When is the shards most active times?

Howdy Kaneda. Welcome to Catskills! There is a decent chance you could find an 18x18 in Tram if you are willing to look for it, and even better odds in Fel.

People seem to RP quite a bit, in both events and randomly. We have some quite established players and guilds here who have been roleplaying since day one.

The shard is active at most during prime time but also gets active other times such as mornings, afternoons and evenings! It can be random sometimes but if you were to count on anything, prime-time is the best answer (6pm-12am).

18x18 shouldn't be hard to find.. If you dont mind snow. I can show you a secluded spot in malas that is empty and can hold afew 18x18s.
The spot used tobe my home (I had 4 18x18 there) it has been empty since I moved out of the spot..


If you need help with some basic things on the shard like spellbook, runebook, lrc suit, ect, ect . Let me know and I can help you get started up...

We have a pretty helpful and fun community lots of Vet players that are always glad to lend a helping hand...

All I would add to this is

I recently returned myself.....I had no problem placing a large tower in tram. Literally took me less then 2 mins to find a spot. A week later I placed a keep In fel...that took me about 15 mins to find a spot with some help of new friends.

This is a very friendly shard...plenty of room for multiple play styles...I don't RP much but I have promised Pandy I will give it a try with a character.

If you also like hunts of any type or level look me up when you get here...and I am sure some of us can help you out getting established.

I'll add a bit myself here.

Random RP on this shard is centered around two general areas... A) Umbra and Britain, B) Trinsic and Skara Brae. And of course you're bound to run into it all around at times but if you go to either of those two places you'll definitely run into some.

As for events, we have a jammed packed schedule of events that are always open to RP possibilities. Of course the events themselves are open to all players. In such events I do break character sometimes to explain things to non-RP'ers because that helps them come together and enjoy a but of RP.

So I think this is the shard to be in for open RP and RP that isn't "regulated" by anyone person or group. Other shards tend to dictate what is or isn't acceptable, this shard (and I hope it stays that way) doesn't have those limitations. Here you're free to do pretty much anything.

Like my guild is VERY unique and VERY different ... We took a book series and expanded it past it's (well we thought it was) last book, with our own twists and turns to the characters. Not easily accepted anywhere else... But it's own brand of RP. Things like that are easier on Catskills.

I have to say that Catskills is one of the best shards in the game. You will defiantly find some folks hanging around one of the towns. Welcome to Cats, have fun.

Oh, and stay away from the headless governors. Not sure which ones they are, but you will know them when you see them.
