lol kid lol phail

I have absolutely no idea who Phantus is, but you just lost the argument between ??him?? and you.

Resorting to infantile internet leet-speak is the last resort of the child who has been chastised by their superiors.

i highly dought that he got a 120 from working spawn
let me tell you, what happened to me last week. A friend called me to help him with a ratmen spawn in the swamps, so I joined with my tamer. Another guild was there as well.
My dragon did his job, and then the champ spawned. In almost the same moment (I was still trying to get rid of the last silver serps and find my way to the champ zone) I got hunted down and killed (I am in no way PvP talented).
So I run off to Papua for a ress.
Logged off to get my intact dragon back (since he was not wounded, I assume he never got in touch with the champ).
Run back to the spawn, just in time to see the champ at his last moments. Got attacked again. Sent the dragon on the red and managed to hide.
The champ fell, my dragon returned and bited the (grey flagged) other person there to dead. He had only to 110 scrolls in his pack, so I did not loot. Collected some gold to cover insurance losses and in that moment I looked in my backpack and did see that 120 Medi scroll (which was my very first self gotten 120 scroll in all my UO time!).
So it may be true, that working on a spawn is now good enough to give you a scroll, if you are around at the time the champ goes down, because I cannot imagine any chance that my dragon could attack the champ at all (and I didn't either).

There was no more skill pre-AOS than there is now in PvP.

It was just as scripted/hacked as it is today, if not more so.

The comment last week from an active PvP'er I talk with quite a bit was:
'If you want to PvP, and you know everyone else is doing it. Not getting caught, then you are stupid not to do it.'

I have no desire to chummy up, create, and organize a group of players or guild at this juncture in UO in order to compete for Powerscrolls within the current PvP system.
This is the biggest problem with UO now. No one wants to work for anything, they want to play a single player game and enjoy the visual chatroom at the bank. If you're not willing to put forth the effort required to aquire such items then you don't deserve to have them freely.

I'm sorry but you are wrong.

I'm not so sure that's the case. The problem is that a lot of people simply don't have the time to dedicate to a scroll chasing guild. Most of the people who do it full time don't have children, full time jobs with rotating shifts or wives/husbands who hound them about their time spent online. So your assertion of people being "not willing to put forth the effort required" is really kind of misleading. Many people simply don't have the ability to invest that sort of time in a game. I mostly just go without myself. It would be nice to have all 120 skills, but I just don't have that sort of time for gaming and with my schedule its hard to find people on at my play times willing to run a spawn. I refuse to spend gold that takes me weeks to earn for a scroll that takes another player 30 minutes to get. I'm not mad about it, but I do often feel like casual players are penalized for not practically living in the game full time. *shrug*

I completely understand your point of view and can respect that. What I personally believe is that those who invest the time and effort in to ANYTHING should be rewarded more for it than those who do not. This is why I believe that Tamers should have more power than an archer, because it is a harder skill to work than melee. I do believe that a game should offer something for every type of player but it should also reward the powergamers.

They should make it so Greater Dragon only takes up 1 control slot.
It was funny back before there was such a thing as control slots. People would walk around with 15 dragons at once. I would tame like 40 polar bears and walk around waiting for PK's to attack me. No one was afraid of polar bears. lol

Sorry, The beerdrinker got me off-topic. =)
