Quick question for those currently playing a mage PvP as well as PvM. Is the healer mage template still a viable option or has it gone with the wind with all the expansions? I quit shortly after AoS came out and I haven't been able to catch up on all the changes. Thanks in advance for the help.

I would look at the standard PvP mage template thread in terms of what you are asking. If you mean use bandages, no it's not effective and a waste of at least 180 skill points...when you think that at least 90 healing and 90 anatomy is really the minimum to heal effectively now.

As a side note, you would need 140 dexterity to get in 4 second heals. In terms of using pots...doesn't really make much sense either. Not many good jewelry that has FC or FCR, a GOOD enhance pots % and LRC or other needed stats on them.

You could do the Eval + Anatomy trick to help your ability to avoid getting hit. (Anat + Eval) / 2 + 10.

The downside of that however is you can avoid spell disruption and avoid getting hit but you don't get that important bonus for disrupting others when they cast...which you would get if you use wrestling.

I would say with legendary meditation and the mana regeneration cap of 18 you will have a full tank of gas for mana regeneration. There really is no "cap" so to speak since you can stack both of those AND focus if you wished...and well, really never run out of mana.

Hence, should just be using regular heal spells. Could do a hybrid template with chivalry if you wanted but not sure the point. Regular heal spells, the greater heal when needed and well you have other slots to play with in terms of MORE worthwhile skills to use.

Stealth mage, parry mage (requires dex of 80 for parry check...harder to do however), and other viable template options in the PvP mage thread I would advise.

Instead of using bandy's go with a Wrestle/Chiv heal mage. A holy healer.

You can outlive multiman ganks in Pvp, and pvm is easy anyway.
No one will die if you are around, simple as that.
