I have to disagree.

I think , they should complete the quest training skills to 50, and continue training with the undead spawn within the town by time all skills are near 60-70 then they should adventure into the dungeon.
they should. if I am correct Ultima Online is an RPG.
so who r you to tell me what my playstyle should be.
I very much enjoyed old dispise. in my opinion they ruined despise.
you do not have the right to tell me how to role play my character

the new player quests in new haven was designed for those who do not have the patience to work for their characters skills.
they are not mandatory.

depending on your play style and the amount of role playing you enjoy maximum skill gain In as short of time as possible may not be your goal

Despite the fact that warriors do have other options for training, the old Despise was a perfect dungeon for a beginning warrior all the way to at least elder probably and in my opinion was a great loss. The design of the New Haven dungeon is not functional. Even some skilled warriors could have a problem dodging the ogre lords in that small space never mind one who is trying to train. Also the presence of the lizardmen in the same space means no EOO. I wish they would create a new dungeon exactly like old despise. I like the new one but we need old Despise back too!

Wow is all I gotta say! Change the mine because its too hard? *laughs* Having started numerous characters and being a 16 year veteran maybe everyone forgot their first character. I can recall dying to numerous small woodland animals with my first characters. Many of us died to rabbits. Flash forward 16 years and no one does anything unless they are completely researched, tweaked, and optimized and if they die well its too hard and obviously a design flaw. Come on! Seriously? 16 years ago there was no research or 100's of detailed web pages on everything. You went out and explored and you died a lot. That's what made the game great! And it had way more people than it does now. So get over it already. New players use to learn to fight their way up through smaller animals to larger animals before you even thought of stepping into a dungeon or mine or monster of any type. Anyone who truly explores New Haven would find all kinds of creatures to train up quickly besides running right into the mines and complaining when they die. There are Brown Bears, Grizzlies, Boglings, Lizard Men, Ettins, Brigands, Panthers, Wolves, Eagles, boars, hinds, great harts, birds , rabbits, and a whole lot more all over New Haven. So get out , explore, and enjoy the world , instead of doing what some power gamer told you on the web.
