I said maybe. I am not sure what you mean by community. I know my guild, SHE, is well run and fun. We keep adding great new members and friends. My guildies are why I play the game.

I don't know about shard wide. I hate that they stopped the livery quest, because I wanted to get it finished. I didn't like the township meetings, not my scene, but I am not sure ending them was the way to go. A cutback to once a month or once every six weeks might have been better.

I guess the point is that in my little world, everything is good. Shard wide, I am not sure. Wait and see I guess.

The community here is wonderful. The players are what make the shard.

Make a thread about the EM's and see what I say... but the community is wonderful here if you ignore the kids in chat.

As I said in my other thread, I think that the sharing of Jack O'Lanterns is a perfect example of how good our community is. Not only have the farmers been dumping jol's in Luna for others to be able to find their name, several have been storing them for people they know or passing them to guildmates of the person the jol is named after. Sure, a couple of people tried to "spoil" it by attempting to sell them or by stealthing around and picking up the Luna stash and trashing it, but the community at large has not let it stop them.

Aside from this example, I've seen countless people who will suit up new players with imbued gear and weapons at no charge. I've seen the same weavers recall to WBB repeatedly when a focus is requested. I've been in various dungeons and had complete strangers rez me and help me recover looted items from monsters.

In any gaming community, there WILL be people who will do everything they can to try to screw over everyone they can. Their idea of fun is to be as big of a jerk as possible. I think that these people can only have fun if they think they are spoiling everyone else's fun. But on Chessy, I truly feel that these people are a very small minority.

Also, as Georox said, I view the "Chesapeake Community" as a separate entity from "Chesapeake Events". The community is the people and we have some of the best.

As Jordy pointed out, the Jack O lantern sharing is a great example. Not really looking for the EM side of it, because they cannot respond here. EM wise you can give your feedback a few different ways....

To keep us on topic perhaps we can start a list of community projects, the players would like to see more of. I know one project we are starting up again is Township runebooks and EM RPC Runebooks. Smithy is working on starting up the community crafting (Which is more of an event, but its geared towards a community service project) just a few examples of services that help all Veteran and new players.

I could accurately answer this if any of them could actually talk. It's like I'm on everyone's ignore list... =\

Gareth,

Don't forget Merxmere Village has a crafters event scheduled for the beginning of next month, and several other events being planned for the future as well.

I've voted "Maybe", which I view as a certain amount of "yes" but not with full confidence.

I missed the HOC and I'm not sure which decisions the EM's have arrived at, or if it has anything to do with the Livery Quests, but that is the current rumor and pulling it this far into it is almost criminal. Alot of effort on the parts of the EM's as well as the player base will have been wasted, and I'm certain that will not foster positive feelings.

So, here are my reasons for "Yes" followed with what I see are shortfalls that can be fixed.

Townships are interacting. However, it is far below what they could achieve. I know I have biases, and I'll assume that others do as well, but this can be fixed. With fishing, boats, multiple facets/land masses involved, markets, etc., the limits of township interaction should only be limited by the imaginations of the players operating them.

EM's have put a fair amount of effort into the townships. The Township Summits, Banners, Teleporter Hubs are nice, but I don't have a warm and fuzzy that the players are doing their part to make them worthwhile. I am disappointed that the only effort to maintain the status gained is only making a token appearance at a meeting and nothing else. In fact, I am one of those people. The Summits have become such a bore for me, that the only reason I do make an appearance is when two other people have failed to attend.

I wouldn't recommend removing the Summits, but I do recommend spreading them out.

Oh well, that's enough of my ranting for now...
