Has a price been discussed for SA access?

Are the client and all aspects of the game going to be accessible to everyone for free or a fee?

Will there be something like ML? (pay for a code to enter areas and use the content)

a previous post from one of the producers said that they won't charge for it... but I don't know if that means that they won't charge for the client, or for the expansion.

I'm betting that the client will be free to download and use, but there will be a charge for accessing the SA only areas/gargoyle race/new skills.

SA Client will be free just like the KR client, but to get the SA expansion you will have to purchase the code. My guess it will be about the same as the ML upgrade (29.99) and the most I can see them charging for an expansion pack would be 39.99. The 9th anniversary box was 19.95, and there was a UO Gold released in a CD jewel case that Wal-Mart sold for around $9-14 about 3 years ago.

Definatly must be included if they charge to upgrade.

How is 7th slot / increased storage yoked to Stygian Abyss content?

They haven't announced with 100% certainty if they will have a quest/method to change a human or elf char to gargoyle and visa versa, so if you already have the 7th char slot and all slots are filled then you will either have to soulstone skills off and delete a char or hope that either there is a way to convert an existing char or there is an extra char slot (8th) included in the upgrade. Either way it would be nice to know if there will be extra char slots offered in the expansion before you pay money now for something that in a couple months you find out will be included.

How did we handle this crippling quandary with the ML release?

They will probably have a racial to/fro Gargoyle quest.

If not, one might be faced with choices and sacrifice.

When they increased to 6 slots on 7th Age( I think)..it was available when you got the ML code it increased to 6 slots..and also on 9th age.

and it still frosts me that they charge $29.95 for the ML code on the uo site

and 9th Anniversary sold for 19.99 when it came out and now goes for $17.00 on Amazon and you get access to the same content

Just because some of you Eye candy junkies gotta have it now..ie 7th slot, 11th Anniversary items, increased bank storage and bought a code.

Doesn't mean they shouldn't be included.

There has to be some carrot dangled, besides the new graphics/client and dungeon.

to entice the masses.

Again if it's free access to the areas and content no harm no foul.

But if I gotta pay for an extra slot to create a gargoyle...well then they just wasted another 2 years of development, cause I ain't buying.

When ML was released there was a pre-order bonus (charger of the fallen) plus a discount if you purchased 5 upgrades. There wasn't a 6th char slot for ML. That was offered as an incentive to purchase the 9th anniversary box. ML also had and still has the quests to go from human to elf and from elf to human. The only thing seperating to two races is that elf items couldn't be worn by humans, but they solved that problem by making you take off all items and not be mounted when you finish the quest and actually change race. The problem with the new gargoyle race is that they can't use the archery skill and human/elves can't use the throwing skill, so that might cause some problems in changing races.

I would think that if they want broad acceptance the New Client then

A) SA must be a really really popular upgrade somehow

OR

B) The client must be a free upgrade AND as good as the 2D client from a function and performance perspective.

Any of you that say "Get a new computer", just accept your digging your own grave if you want the SA Client to be the accepted client.

Because it was originally supposed to be. It was only put up for sale because SA got pushed back and they wanted to make it available.

That and they wanted to realize some profit from it because SA got pushed back.
