Hard Decision Between Med and Eval Int!

Ok so I have been working on a character for a little while now without finalizing the template, she is a mage/tamer/archer. This is almost impossible. So because I will only be using Magery as a backup to my pets and archery skill, and mainly for healing myself and gating, I am left with the choice of Meditation skill versus Evaluating Intelligence. At this point I have set aside 100 points for eval int, although it pains me to run a mage without meditation for the fear of running out of mana when I really need it. I am wondering... which is the more valuable skill to enhance magery?

Any input is very much appreciated, but a detailed pro and con explaination would just be amazing. Thank You!

This topic is easy, if you want your player to deal damage throught spells, go for eval, if this is not your purpose at all, go for meditation.

Thank you, that breaks it down pretty well. I would love to be able to throw some energy bolts and whatnot at the monster and have it hurt, but my main focus is being able to have enough mana to heal myself and as a backup method for pets. Honestly, would it be worth having 110 magery as I have settled on without eval int? I might be able to pull another 30 points out of somewhere, but that is pretty much as far as I can go. Would it be worth it to do 65 in eval int and med? Thanks again, and sorry for my lack of knowledge in magery as I have always played warriors of many colors, and this is my first real go at a mage.

If I were in your shoes I'd try 106 magery, 0 eval and as much as possible in Med. You'll be able to cast spell levels 1-7 without fizzle and med will give you a good amount of mana regen. Since your using archery for damaging your target and a pet you'll probably only be using magery for traveling and an occasional heal.

Pffft. Sounds like you need to decide on what you want to be.

You can't have everything.

How is it that one person can be so helpful?

You can always cas mindblast.
It is about 20% less than ebolt but doesn't require eval at all.
My mage is a tamer too, and the few times I go back to actually doing damage myself, left me wondering, If I even need eval, myself.
And you have archers to do damage, so my advice would be to forget eval and go for med.

As a tamer your pet will be dealing most of your damage. You would probably be better off with 0 eval and 100 meditation. You can toss an EV or Mind blast in and heal yourself and pet (none of these are effected by eval int).

If I were in your shoes, I'd probably go for eval and try to get a very high Mana Regen suit and life-leech weapon...

Having eval will allow you to use bless effectively. I love the boost it gives my pets, especially the non-casters like the cu.

sounds like someone wants to dismount some dragon food, yum yum.

guess i would go with the med, especially if your doing lady m's and need to cast gheals repeatedly.
