[Discussion] "Halloween" Leather, or a bugged item, or..what?

Recently i discovered this weired colored leather, does anyone have info on this?

I would have a guess that it is Halloween leather, taken off quickly when you ate 'tricked' whilst trick or treating and cut up or salvaged. I have only ever done it with cloth myself, but cannot see why other materials couldn't be utilised in a similar way.

I tried it with a leather tunic and didnt get the colored leather it was just plain normal...

Was it ever possible to dye leather armor with a bugged metal dye tub? That could be what created it.

Yeah I know several ppl that have tried in years past to cut leather fast enough and it never came out that color. Havent heard anyone try it this year.

I tried it this morning. It just cuts into regular leather. Not colored

I *heard* that some people dyed things like this when the metal dye tub was bugged for a short amount of time. This might be the case here.

Well, on the last rares fest there was a vendor (from a well known collector) selling metallic-dyed lanterns, right? and we all know that lanterns cannot be dyed with any tub. So metallic-dyed leather doesnt surprise me..

leather was created same way the as cloth (cut up/recycled) just was not as popular as cloth as it does not retain it's hue.

The bugged tubs were able to be created in two formats, a reverted cloth tub that kept the metallic hues, or a reverted metal tub that kept the cloth hues. (being able to dye metal items with the neon colors of a cloth tub..)

Tinkered items (including the candlewood torches, -1 sc ones) were able to be dyed for a very limited time as the bug was fixed very quickly. Most of these bugged items originated from the Asian shards.

Yes - it is up again... get the right Trick - undress the cloth items fast and put them into a salvage bag - then salvage the cloth.
