Is U Hall the proper place for discussion of all things pertaining to Guilds?

For one example, is UHall the proper place to discuss methods for replacing Guild Leaders who have died or left with no others in Leadership positions? Etc?

Sure. I don't see why not. Did you try voting someone new into a guild leadership position?

Yes, the entire remaining members all cast their votes for the same member to elevate that member to Guild Leader. However, the Guild Roster never implements the change, and they remain in limbo.

A feedback report has been submitted but no response has ever been forthcoming.

They are at a loss for what to try next.

They do not want to all resign and start anew with a new Guild Name and Abbreviation.

We did this with a couple of guilds on Pacific. If you want, I can offer the services of my accounts to create characters on Baja to try and get these changes pushed through. You have to meet a certain player threshold in votes. UO.com states it is 2/3s of legal votes (ie active characters) but I'm not sure this works exactly as intended based upon our efforts.

Since only members remain, no new members may be added.

Doh, yeah, that's a problem. When we added voters into dying guilds to institute a new leader, it took a day for the change to occur. It did seem, however, as if we had the necessary votes before we boosted the vote count. So there may be some issue with the code. Not sure what you can do if you don't have any emissaries.

We're having the same problem with another guild on Baja. Alot of old guilds are.

Thus far, the developers have indicated that GMs do not currently possess the power to transfer guild leadership. Nevertheless, I wish they would do something about it. Alot of old, historical guilds are lost because their guild leaders disappear and the remaining members don't have the power to restore the guild.

I'd like to see something implemented where if the last character with emissary powers goes inactive, the oldest active member of the guild would then get emissary powers.

Odd about them saying the GM's can't do it. We were able to have a GM resolve the same issue for us with a guild on Napa about 6 months ago ...

Mesana (sp?) told me if the Guild roster would not update as intended, that was an "in-game" issue which the GM's should help to correct. However, GM's keep telling folks just the opposite.

Maybe once the expansion goes live the Dev's or tech support or whomever will get around to fixing this. It is very frustrating, and appears to be affecting many legacy Guilds and their remaining active players.

Bumped AGAIN, now that SA has launched in hope that an OFFICIAL at EAMythic will RESPOND!!!!!

Paged GM's refer me to Knowledge Base. However when I re-page and explain we have followed those instructions BUT the Guild Roster DOES NOT UPDATE, the GM's say "can't help ya." Customer support claims its an "in-game" issue which they cannot help with.

This is terribly, terribly frustrating.

This is a special case where there are no active emissaries left, I suspect.
The mass recruitment, demotion to ronin, mass vote technique won't work if you don't have an emissary.

Even where we have Emisarries, and added new Ronin, then promoted them to Member, and had them join the already 100% of members logging in during past 6 months voting for same new Guild Leader...the Roster Will Not Update to a New Guild Leader!

You also need to demote everybody who is not active, and who is not a leader, to ronin (so you can reinstate them later) so that they don't have a vote.
