I could of done a yes/no poll, maybe later. I was just wondering what's thought about going down that road of literally buying items with gold, or why we shouldn't. I think it's already been instituted in other games where you buy items, expansions, or gametime with credits acquired in-game or cash. Add a UO in-game store. There's been a growing trend disliking the constant grinds, people are getting sick of them, myself included - but would you Grind for Dollars? Maybe an expansion of the now permanent trash-can points, I don't know, just a concept, or maybe just a stoopid idea?

I personally don't mind financially supporting this game i love so much, I just wish any of my money was spent on banning hackers instead of fostering the hacker friendly environment of current day UO

I don't mind giving them my money either, and I'm Not trying to promote F2P, as UO needs a steady stream of income, a growing one at that. I thought cheap expansions and $1 widgets were little drips and spurts. It's people enjoying the game that brings in the steady money. I'm trying to think of another use for those those god-awful grinds. How do you make a grind Fun? Something worthwhile? That's all I'm getting at. It keeps you in game, but with additional purpose. UO has already been publicly reviewed as a grind, I just hate to see that connected in a negative manner.

How many fires would you stomp out to get an artifact? Turn semi boring as crap into something you don't mind getting carpal tunnel for.

I think Dofus had an interesting take on this. You can buy these tokens with your kamas (game currency) and use them to buy game time. They also sell the Ogrine tokens for RL$ so players who want to buy game currency can do so safely and legally: in game you have like an exchange market where you sell your kamas in exchange for ogrines or vice versa. But however a player pays for gametime, the Dofus folks get paid - the ogrines need to be bought from Ankama before they can be sold to players. It just means if you have a lot of kamas you could swap them for gametime. I think that would work for UO.

Also they have week long subscription options, which I think are really handy :)
