If they are to read posts like yours, and take actions based on your comments - having not known that you haven't actually participated in the events, they might not go the best direction possible.

I wasn't very clear about my participation in the events. I did go to the moonglow part of this event, but have not been to wherever it is now (Cove I think?) It just seemed like more of the same garbage we had in moonglow, which was essentially the same as Magencia, minus the rubble.

It really brings to mind the double edged sword that are boards like these. On the one hand its really encouraging to hear from the development team and have them interact with folks out here, but it raises the expectation that they're actually going to act on what they see here...

Personally I don't think the Devs should believe a single thing that is posted on these forums. I'd much rather they form focus groups and also play the game themselves.

Now that I'm at the end of the post, it feels like I'm picking on you... but I hope again that you don't take it that way. You're simply the lightning rod for the energy I've been storing up on this topic for a while.

Don't even worry buddy, even if you were ripping me a new one, I wouldn't let it bother me in the least. Your posts have been very well written and I appreciate and understand your concerns.

I can agree with the OP on this one. When i heard "event" i remembered the oldschool invasions of towns and was expecting something like that with random drops and such.

The monsters in the rift left a horrible taste in my mouth.

The wisps were an interesting challenge for a warrior but everything else was insanely difficult and not worth the trouble (in hindsight).

Those darn fallen warriors would open up with a hit for 39hp and then start spamming un-evade-able (lol) flamestrikes on you. Then they would jump on the roof when their health got low and spam-heal themselves. The bezerkers were interesting enough once they slowed down the spawn as long as you were an archer or had a nice group. The Slords (when they did spawn) were only fun if you or someone else had blackrock. The fetids and that annoying AOE were just there to ruin your day. At the end, we fought and lost tons of insurance $ and got our lousy tshirts.

Now you have these unbelievably difficult creatures that ride tameable mounts that are a tamer's paradise and theres a large group of people who feel really left out. Even though i have a tamer, i never even bothered going and seeing what that part of the event was about because i could care less for a black horse that i can call a trick when i want to.

As far as the duration goes, i wouldn't mind so much that it has gone on so long if it was simple and fun for everyone. They seem to be slowly leading to a conclusion that will be disappointing only because of the anticipation. Personally i think they are gearing up for some serious game changes and this event is just smoke and mirrors while they prepare it.

To the devs: We appreciate the storyline and all but yes...you are pushing it a tad bit.

Just to add to the list of 'Yea Agree's'

Im a totally involved, 14 hr a day 8 day a week player.

I have spent every possible hour of my 20 months in game playing along with each event.

I play Europa.

For the past week there has been NOT ONE SOUL at ANY of the spawn cities/areas, apart from the very rare one or 2 persons in Cove.

Ive been to every location, Tram and Fell every 2 hrs, and /or every midnight uo and , sadly, it seems that everyone on my shard has given it up as boring, been there done that.

I then decided to do a few hours grind in Nuj, where there have been a few bugged pedestrian Vanguards on a set track, and that was fun for 3 hrs, hiding in the bank when they summoned.

But, as mentioned many times, there are only so many Obs Blades, and Chaos shields that you can collect, Im nearing 100 on both, hell Ive enhanced @ 25 shields and made them kinda better.

Andrew, yes brilliant for 5 mins, get your dagger, on 1 or 2 chars, tell him hes a **** on the others and die.

For what??, OK so we are signing up with SLs,?? so what?? Why am I not black and immortal as the Shad lords promise??

Ive worn my cloak, Ive carried BR, Ive carried 10 of each thread, Ive chanted armagueddon, all for nothing.

Surely this Andrew bit should have been like the mad mage event, over in 28 hrs....

So now what?? Everyone seems to have decided the rewards (10,000 points) are much better in Doom, and have moved , en masse to the dark dungeon, with everyone fighting for themselves.

Come on Devs, gets with the game, get this event rolling again, make it so we need to have freinds, a plan, a gathering of minds, a reward, a chance to show our skills, a chance to go down inhistory.

What ever happened to GM events, named items drops, collectables, with story lines??

Cloaks of corruption, yippee, so use them already

125 threads of fate and life, ditto, Obsid Blades and shields, with Knight armor

Lets get it rolling, and enjoyable, make folk want to rush home from work to defend their shard.

I have not been about very much to clear the towns for a few reasons.

1. Its clashed with the spring cleaning. Nothing for months then 2 things running in conflict with each other. If we knew how long the spring cleaning was going on for it might help.

2. They respawn too fast. At least with the Despise invasion and Ophadian invasion you felt some kind of satisfaction that you had liberated the town for at least a RL day, with these invasions you know they will be back in a couple of hours.

There are a few lesser reasons I'v not done too much, but those are the main 2.

Its a shame most shards are not participating in the event, but the lack of information is just terrible. Why can't they tell us the value of fighting and obsidian items. and the use for threads and shadow cloaks. They secrecy just ain't cutting it.

I'm confused...I thought the critters in the vanguard raids were easier than what went on inside the rift.

Near as I can tell they are the same as any other "normal" version of themselves with about three times the hit points. All spellcasting monsters can chain cast incredibly fast...try fighting a couple of ophidian matriarchs at once.

About a half dozen of us took out the raid in LS Cove just now with only one casualty, and I think she started off AFK.

When they posted ophidian items where worth 25,000 all of the sudden the pvp guilds showed up and stopped farming powerscrolls. Now that they are pack to 2500 perhaps they will take thier external spam of area peace wraithform whither back to fel.
