Graphical injustice

OK i know there have been a gazillion different posts about the graphics. I've even taken part in them in the past. This isn't a rant about about all the graphics, I think I have a pretty good understanding of what they're doing and why.
However I would like to focus on one particular set of graphics. These items do a grave injustice, not just to the game but to the devs as well.
Now I know there will be some people that like them. But I know when they came out the vast majority expressed the opinion - 'Yuck.'
And justing by the shear number of these items I see on vendors, and their extremely low prices I feel opinion hasn't change.
I am of course talking about the 9th Anniversary Crystal sets. Outstanding job on the shadow sets, no doubt.
But the crystal... what the hell was being smoked and why wasn't it shared with the rest of us?
Seriously though, i think they could be turned into a popular set with just a small bit of tweeking. No reason to even redrawn them (most of them anyway). Just knock down the saturation some so the crystal looks more like crystal and less like a smurf finger painting.

Used the original image, just knocked out the blue so it looks more like crystal.
Easy easy fix.. please guys. for the love of the virtues. Spare my eyes and make this set something truly beautiful!

The best art piece in that set was the token itself.

I agree with you though, that set should have looked like crystal, not like blue rock candy, or as you mentioned, a smurfy finger painting.

I vaguely remember that the original art was a lot less blue but people kept calling it an "ice" tileset which they seemed to want to avoid (the dev team of the day seemed very concerned about setting up a crystal/shadow clash of themes in their prelude to SA)

Thanks! It's not really about me showing off, just wanting to make a point about the crystal stuff. If that was true about them having had a different set to begin with but ditched it.. then that means the work is actually already done!

We just need to harass them and whine constantly about it!

If nothing else we show get to see the choices and make a vote on which the majority likes!
