Or at least they used to. When did they change them and make them shy away from things they used to munch on? They'd be great for pumpkin farming if only they were like the old goats of yore.

Actually, goats don't eat anything. They do eat anything made from leather.

This includes backpacks (and anything inside the packpack). I am guessing that you may have forgotten the backpack part.

Cobblers will take anything made from leather too, including backpacks with stuff in them. These items are destroyed and will not be sent to the cavern of discarded.

Horde minions are good for clearing the pumpkin fields to force the pumpkin to respawn. Everthing they have in their packs will also be deleted when they are unsummoned.

Yup hoard minions are best. Other option is have a pack animal, fill it up, then take it to another sub server, kill it when it gets full, res, and restart. Thats what I did. Just got my JoL minutes ago.

Renaming your pet to a name without spaces, you can give it the "petname drop". It will drop the pack contents into a neat little pile. Bring across a subserver first. Good way to leave the pumpkins at the bank.

Actually, for dumping footwear, for me, I add them to the sell agent in UOA and sell them off at 1 go. Less mouse click/dragging.

That reminds me to my days on GL. One very busy fisherman there had always a goat with him, too. One day a sea serpent munched too much on it and he went for a pet ress. Comment of the tamer was something like:
