Glacial spellbook?

Does anyone know if it's ok to own a glacial colored spellbook? I don't want to get in trouble for having it. Thanks.

The last thing said on them was at a rare's fest (not the last one - but the one before) and from what I remember, they are to be deleted on sight by GM's.

I've never seen any character carrying a Neon-colored Spell book.
Therefore:
If neon-colored spellbooks were allowed to be carried surely such spellbooks would be noticed if being carried in public.

Therefore I would assume, to be on the safe side, that the answer is NO. It is not safe to carry neon spellbooks.

Further more .. <whille I am on my high horse here ..acting the scholar that I am not >- - let us ask the questions:

Char on Atlantic usually has a glacial spellbook sitting at Luna bank. However they used to be all over the bank for a while there. Could be they started deleting them on sight, so everyone stopped carrying them *shrugs*

For what it's worth I've had conversations with Mesanna while holding mine.

Like 1-2 years ago I would often see several people carrying it around when the glacial spellbook were the hot "new" thing, but now I rarely come across someone holding one. I think everyone just got tired of carring one around since everybody's friend has one or either that maybe the GM's do delete them on sight. Though I currently still see them locked down on sight in several houses and museums.

(- - because I hate to admit .. there are piles more of glacial staffs and white plants stored everywhere elsewhere - - and Clean-up-Britain can't entice this player to toss them into the trash for any number of reward points)

I'd really love to see full screenies of that house, looks awesome.

I was trying to piece it together on my Adobe CS. A full screen shot doesn't show the whole house, only pieces of it and when I try to fit the pieces together they won't go exactly where they should because I have to move my character to different spots to take the shots.

It's fun playing with the screen shots to find out what is possible. Cutting the above picture out of a full screen shot gave a better composition but no more of the Glacial staff wall shows up in the full screen shot. By joining other pictures taken from different angles, I could make a complete picture of the house but not everything would join up exactly.

- - I must be tired .. am posting posts and getting very yakky.... or is it possible that I am still drooling over those neon colored spell books .. and am doing this to get them out of my mind .. ??? haha - - very possible I think!

I dont remember the orign of glacial spellbooks - but they was a target for duping a few years ago. The difference between legal and duped ones, was that the duped did not have the 'blessed' tag.

Its no where it says that they are illegal, and you dont have to be afraid of getting it deleted. Just be sure, that if/when you buy one - it is 'Blessed'.

no where does it ever say anything is illegal.. you can pretty much get banned any time for any reason.. from experience

one time i had a quiver of infinity i purchased off a vendor, it was bugged so it didnt have a weight limit so it let you store more then 500 arrows in it. at the time i didnt know any bug like this existed and the character i wore this quiver on was not an archer and i had never put arrows in it to begin with i just used it for the 5 dci.

after many months of going about my business, one day i get put in that room with no doors and a gm messaged me asking about my quiver...
he went on to say that it was bugged and illegal to own and that i should have thrown it away.

i told him i purchased this item from a vendor and wasnt aware of any illegal bugs and my character wasnt even an archer and has never put any arrows in it..

but he banned me.. for 72 hours..

wear those books at your own risk..

No, they are ok to own and show.

Some months ago, on LS Rares Fest, Mesanna showed up and deleted a ethereal cloak (because the crowd was asking her to delete it) that a AFK guy was wearing. He also, was wearing a glacial spellbook. Mesanna did not deleted the book, dont you think she opened the guy's paperdoll? she did not deleted the spellbook.

There are so many different items that were duped using the dog dupe (already fixed) some time ago. Necro blue robe (same color as the necromancer mage on umbra), glacial spellbook, dagger, butcher knife, bandana and others, two-tone red-ish weapons (hallberd & viking sword) and alot more items... none of these are illegal to own, except the ethereal clothing.

Any item that could only be obtained from a dupe is suspect and at risk of deletion at any time. Again - Wear/display at your own risk.

As mentioned above, Blessed ones are if you believe "them" are ok to own, the unblessed duper ones are not

After consulting with our Rares Forum Moderator - the Glacial Spellbooks are a duped item and discussion/sales/purchases of them have been banned from the forum. As a result, this thread is now closed.
