I started playing UO years ago before the Lost Lands was opened up, and have re-started just last week. I remember the fun I used to have frantically trying to chop trees near Minoc so I could sell wooden shields to NPCs. More often than not I'd get a proper owning by some badass PKs. I then vowed I would no longer be the noob, and I'd spend my time trying to have a laugh, loot, murder, pillage and generally be a bit of a *******

Anyway, to cut to the chase if your looking to give anything away, IM YOUR MAN!

I spend most of my current game time running around Felucca on my thief, speaking in a really ******** way like a pirate trying to steal peoples belongings. I could use some extra cash to gear up a mage PK to disperse the annoying hordes of Tramelites gathering the fruits of the Felucca dungeons

Different for everyone. For pretty much the last two years I've been on "reactivating UO every 2 months to keep house" status hoping they would do SOMETHING to make the game worth playing again, so far nothing but stupid eye candy and collectibles...
UO is superior to WoW in the casual non-combat aspects, but end-game wise, WoW kicks UO's ass with challenging PVE content. UO's pathetic so called bosses are nothing in comparison. I want content that challenges groups and rewards accordingly, not having to kill the same peerless you can pretty much AFK through for a little to no chance at a reward.

I'm trying to start to get into PvP, on Great Lakes, don't have near enough money for the 120 scrolls I need on my mage and I have about 500k in insurance. :/ Have about 1.5 mil in gold on my account and have a few good PvM items, but that's about it.

Just solo some more peerless, you'll soon have plenty of cash.

Not only do people do peerlesses with melee chars, some can solo them, I can solo Trav and Dread on a melee char, and Paroxysmus, Grizzle, and Shimmering are possible to solo.

To OP: sell your account, that way you can't come back even if you wanted to. Forget about giving away your stuff to the scavengers; at least get something out of all the time you spent on it.

Close your accounts will give you 3 months cool down time if you regret your decision. Even if you don't renew after 3 months, everything in your backpack, bank box and stable will be saved for you.

That is if the $60 per 6months is a big deal to you. Otherwise, just keep the account and forget about the uo for a while.

Do UO a favor. Sell all your good stuff and keep all the gold on your account. Take it out of the game with you. And if the game ever makes a switch to something better for you, you'll have it on your return.
(Of course, it may not be worth much in a year or two. heh)

This isn't the worst idea ever.

Another idea, is find a group willing to do public events in Felucca (fight nights, public champ spawns, etc) and give the stuff to them.

Good time to come to WoW...tons of content in Burning Crusade, and a new expansion in beta. I've been playing over a year and haven't even sampled a significant portion of the BC content. But, I am a casual player, same as I was in UO. I am not bored in WoW after a year.

Oh and in terms of support, it is funny - I was brainwashed by my UO years into thinking all games had such indifferent customer support, and had no expectations. Then I actually read part of Blizzard's support FAQ. "Wow" is right! They are even allowed to help players who lose things due to their own mistakes.

A friend that came from UO, with whom I now play WoW, lost a very important trinket last week (she sold it by accident to a vendor). She wrote it off as a dumb mistake. I mentioned to her that we were not playing UO. She opened a ticket (2 days after the fact), and that same day had a personal response from a GM who investigated her claim, which was later followed by a mail package with her lost trinket.

I also like how they are always spinning out small but generally entertaining "bonus" content additions without making us buy a thing for RL cash beyond our normal monthly subscription cost. For example, they added some purely decorative battleground prizes in honor of the Olympics - a gold medal that summons a miniature dragon non-combat pet, and a tabard with the Olympic rings depicted in "embroidery" on the chest.

As for what to do with your stuff, either save as much as you can in your bank, sell the account and items or (what I'll do when it becomes time) find a few people that are having fun in the game and give thrm a leg up. Just please whatever you do, don't give it all to a newby, the real joy in this game is building your character's and earning the trinkeys and shiny's

That's what I'm doing now, I've been on Napa for almost 9 years, but now traing new character's on Atlantic and it's a blast!! I did transfer a few soul stones and some gold to get started, but I've forgotten how much fun it can be to start a new character and work him up. It's just a little more fun if you have the resources to do it without having to start completly from scratch.

Also , no I don't need your items I've horded enough of my owm stuff, I already have two Castles and a Keep full of junk on Napa. Have a good time with them and give them to some worthy person that can use a hand (or leg) up.

If you ever do return to UO look me up (I'll probable still be here) and i'd be more than happy to help you get resarted

As much as I hate to see players leave the game, I would like to make a suggestion to you.

UOGuide runs off of donations. Any high end sell able items you could donate to them.

Or if you have rare items they could be donated to a museum on your shard.

Whispering Rose Radio would probably be willing to help you distribute your wealth in a just and righteous way as well.

very soon i will be giving someone a few hundred mil, all my collections of the different suits, "none of which are complete".. like assasins suits and those type. my Luna house on baja, and my house on atl near umbra, and a ton of stuff collected over time, alltogether there is probably a little over a billion in stuff. I am quitting UO to go to WoW, where there is support and some sort of PvP that hasnt been totally gimped out..... they dont give you as many automated messages, and there is a ton of support agains exploits and a ton of ways to block hackers, and scammers.... only thing i dont know, is who i am giving it all to. I dont want to give itto someone who is allready wealthy, and i dont want to give it to someone brand new, because they will never learn to use it. I dont mind giving it to someone who sells it for in game wealth, just not for someone who will ebay it. and if one of the stratics people wants it to distribute in a fair, and just way, then i will consider that, as long as it isnt just to their friends or guild mates.... I thought about forming a scavenger hunt for the final prize, but i dont have the patience to set that up, i also would love to know what happens with it when it is all said and done...

*added* I would also love it if this were to go to improve someones life in FEL......... to liven things up there. That is where I feel this game origionated, and it has the closest ruleset i can relate to.

if you want pvp, wait for warhammer. wow pvp is horrid.

Our guild has been working on our fel exp much more often as of late, and I know many of our members here on Baja could use an upgrade in suits etc. If anything was donated to us, I would spread it out among our guild fairly so all got an equal piece.

A guild vendor house within the walls would be a super addition as well. Hope you come back to Baja & UO soon.

Thats the way to do it. I left many years ago and deleted chars on one account and stripped the ones on the other. I decided to come back and it has been an uphill battle since then. I eventually took a break from it (mostly out of frustration) a couple of months ago but knowing that i would return i sold off what i couldn't fit and stored everything else in bankboxes and pack animals (that i logged out on). I am planning my return for perhaps mid-late september and i am glad i didn't go the whole saving myself from myself route this time. Reconsider keeping the stuff and if you still wanna give it away after a few months, designate someone trustworthy to give it away or hold a lottery.

Right now my son and I play PvP on TC1. I am sure a real shard would give a different experience.

well, as a returning vet from a 2yr break to play WoW I can only wish you luck. I played WoW for a year or so but it just does not have the sense of community that UO has. PvP is level based there and the skill development for templates is cookie cutter. I'll gladly take any help as I came back last week after 2yrs with only the shirt on my back. Please read your PM's. Cause these days you need to be a millionaire to be able to do some decent pvp.
Cause you need 120 scrolls and arti gear.

Back in the old days you could pvp , weither you were rich or poor...everyone could pvp.
It required skill instead of gear and hax.

Everyone has always been able to pvp. That has never changed.

I see so many fools whining and complaining that they cant pvp because they dont have 200 million in gear. Thats a joke.
With minimal experience you can farm gold and make enough to build a perfectly functional pvp suit in a couple months. Will someone else have a better suit? Of course but that will never change. i personally have an extremely valaubale suit because I have been playing for 10 years but I could still be damn effective with a much less valuable suit. Especially in a group. Solo pvp is more dependant on gear but still able to be done on a budget.

Please spare the dramatics when talking about being able to pvp. There isnt a guild around that doesnt value experience and ability over gear. You can get all the experience you will ever need just by being smart and playing alot in Felucca. You can get nothing but bored by hanging around Trammel

been plaaying almost 9 yrs the hard way... i dont even use uoassist. it would be great to be able to make up for doing things the hard but i gotten great satisfaction knowing that i did it all myself !!! just maybe the slowest way but i earnned every penny. i would be glad accept anything on any american shard. i would be glad to share about 50% with different people that i have come across that i feel that might be deserving of help.

It was no problem. Also the only people that know where all the stuff went to is Linko50, myself, and the two people I gave it all two. They will be using it to help new players.
