Every once in a while I try to clear out the junk in my UO houses but when it comes to throwing out my 300+ pieces of blackrock, I can never quite bring myself to toss it, thinking that MAYBE someday the devs will make it useful in game.
Has anyone ever seen any info on this?

You do know that it doesn't take any lockdowns right? You can just throw it on the ground and it doesnt go away. I have a bunch in my castle courtyard, when I go mining and aquire more, right to the courtyard it goes. No lost lockdowns. ;)

And this has been discussed many many, many many many many many many many, many times here, everyone wants a use for it but the Devs never say anything about it. Just turn the infecting back on and everyone will be happy.

I got a cool idea for a use for blackrock!

Let's let alchemists utilize it for a new potion. Maybe some kind of "infectious" explosion potion that could have a chance of infecting monsters within the area of explosion.

Or maybe some extreme explosion potion that only alchemists could use :stir:

I don't know, I'm sure there could be other creative ideas for blackrock and alchemy :stir:

I was wondering about that, I tossed out like 50 peices the other night and they are still sitting there. Is all blackrock like that or just the small peices?

Not sure I'd risk leaving the large pieces about released, They are worth a bit still aren't they?

Me thinks blackrock may be useful after this new story arc gets goin. The dark wisp shield bypass is great but theres no reason to have to replace your piece of rock. make it a ingrediant in somethin or make it so a Thrower could use it like a splode potion.

This could mean one of two things...

1 - The blackrock is somehow collated and polished into a mysterious shard, wherein lies a community wearing plainer clothes and wielding items with strange names like "Vanquishing".

2 - Such a shard never comes to pass, thus all those who were opposed to it, are able to publicly hurl said pieces of blackrock at the "treasonous" few who brought the idea up in the first place...

;) :D

Hmm...

Hopefully its not a spring cleaning item or hand-in item so that the people who hold copius amounts of "useless" items and then complain and whine about there being no use on forums can get some crazy amount of points.rolleyes:

If it is a hand-in item, I hope you get 1/2 a point per.

Personally, I think its use with the Dark Wisp shields are more than enough.

Must you infect every post on stratics with your Classic shard propaganda? ... Seriously?

I keep wondering about the Blackrock Infected Guardians around the towns. Could they be a part of something upcoming? It does seem all signs point to a use being disclosed soon.

What? Where is this? Not on Origin that I have seen.

You gotta give us more then that Cal, wishful thinking on our part i guess... :sad4:
I wouldn't hope for anything spectacular.

Not to show too much of my pessemistic side (because I actually like the use of blackrock against dark wisps) I imagine the "use" of blackrock will merely extend to other monsters, possibly in a world event like the Vanguards?

Certain "baddies" will have "shields" which will be over come by using black rock in some way. So instead of the people who normally do Primeval Lich spawn, or hunt other places where dark wisps may haunt, everyone will probably be carrying around a piece (or pieces) of black rock.

This is just my speculation, but... I could be wrong and hope I will be.

Although as I mentioned before I hope they don't just reward people for hording items they consider "useless". Which is what this entire thread feels like to me. "I horde all this stuff I consider useless, so obviously devs you need to make it useful so I can attempt to sell it for insane amounts of gold! Using it to take out wisp shields isn't enough!"

Must you take everything so... seriously?

Lighten up eh!

Anyhow, what "propaganda" would you have me post? Something you agree with or believe in instead perhaps? Sorry, but have this thing called "free will". Try it sometime... it's fun ;) :thumbup1:

Ack Sorry Yen Sid, I play many shards and thought I'd seen the blackrock infected guardians all over. I guess they are just in Europa, musta been an EM event. Too bad, I had thought of some cool possible uses for them (can we say another blackrock turnin at least).

Geez, will you give it a rest? Like there aren't already enough posts and threads from the same 3 people on the same subject.
