yes having some kind of do you want a res message come up would be nice maybe it can last a few seconds and let you run away a few.. it does suck when your are in the middle of a whole mob of monsters and the only option is to take a res and try to run for it with 0 health and no armor.
Actually, as the Gift of Life is currently designed, it gets even
worse than that......
Once a player who had the Gift of Life spell cast before dyeing, dies right in the middle of a pack of MoBs (or with whatever MoB that got the player killed, nearby...), and the Gift of Life resurrection gump pops up
without the player having any possibility to control the popping up of the gump, well, the gump comes with a timeout life..........
Yes, the player cannot even sit there waiting too long that whatever killed him/her walks away because if the wait time gets too long, the gump times out and even clicking on the ressing button has no effect, the player won't get resurrected.....
So, as it has been designed, with no ability to walk away as a ghost and no control in when the ressing gump should pop up or how long it should stay on screen, most of the time Gift of Life ends up only being a rez-killing spell...........= Die, res on the spot, gets killed again by whatever killed the player the first time...........wow, what a usefull spell....

But as I said, this flaw has been lamented for years now, and nothing has been done so far to change the design of this spell.
