Thermonuclear hand grenade!!!

Actually, bards are your best friends for the giant turkeys. Bards can solo these. I have friends bard soloing these with anywhere from 2 on up provoking them on each other.

Other than that, I liked my archer. Honor, start turning it into a giant turkey pincushion, and heal as needed.

I never fared well as a tamer, swordsman, or spell-user. Just tried my mystic on one lol. reminded me of the Army-Notre Dame game this weekend. Started off OK, and then went downhill (and that was a very steep, very big downhill). Damn that sucked (both the game and my mystic)

It's not always about the pixel rewards :)

I had a lot of fun last year fighting the turkeys because I was fighting the turkey's with my friends. :)

I am fortunate enought to have met a group of great people when i came back into the game. Fortunately, they started hanging around with me before realizing I am a goober :)
And now, they can't seem to get rid of me lol

I could have fun fighting mongbats with friends, cause I will always have fun playing with them.

They are harder this year too, last year i provo'd 1 on 1 and it took about 5mins for one of them to die. This year im still watching 2 of them go at it after 16mins and still at half life.

Do they spawn only in Trammel and Felucca, or has anyone found them in Ter Mur, Tokuno, and Ilshenar?

I'm having some good success with Spellweaving.

Word of Death was hitting for around 444, at a level 2 focus (at 120 skill) for me.
They REALLY do not like Natures fury!

Whatever you choose - prepare to die a lot if you are continuously damaging them.
If you can find someone to help/cross heal you'd probably be better off.

I agree.
I am more about the lameness in randomization of this world.

Why not fight the Turkeys and have a 1 in 1000 chance of having any item every pixelated in UO drop?

Why not have random colored feathers on it.

Maybe gut and skin it and find something gross.

More can be done with this game beyond the... 25000 hit points and 10 items that drop pretty easily that eventually flood the market.

While that happens we gripe its to hard then we gripe the market is flooded. And then we gripe its the same as last year.

There's several on Glow, espec NW corner. Remember, you can't cast in town, Or over the fence - THEY can tho
They get bleed, dismount, easy 41-55dmg in all 70's, plus casts the cacophonic sound thing.
Demon or Bird slayers do nothing.
not much healing, passive only?

25000 htps? OK, I don't need another grind, I'm still doing the virtue armor one, goodbye to this one.
1400gp, trash array of loot.

Ornithologist' map goes directly into backpack - this brownish map, to me, is the main deco thing to keep if you already have a matched set of Cornucopias.

hehehe Thank Heavens I worked my fingers to the bone and got me a 4X120 Bard! Whoot! Fun for me! Last Year I believe I had friends round up the little buggers and I provo/discorded the little gobblers and we all killed them and shared some nice booty had fun getting the maps and finding the "treasure"... destroying bad eggs.

I'm glad to have the event back I enjoyed it. And the Nice cornucopias last all year round they keep giving and giving and giving. :thumbup1:

Awesome.....another event for bards and tamers.
Actually tamer kind of sucks against them because they'll teleport you to them and bye bye tamer, pet doesn't last long either honestly. And... another event for bards? You can't bard 90% or more of the stuff they come out with anymore.

I recall soloing one of these pretty easily last year on a sampire with a leafblade for feint.

Maybe I'm confusing it with something else. I'll probably try to do it on my new sampire when I get home.

EV's & Nature's Fury pretty much instantly dispelled, which also makes you an instant target to it and chanced to be tele'd to it

Just solo'd one on a almost fully trained mace/samurai (120 bush, 100 anat, 100 heal, 108 macing, 105 tact, 110 parry). This was on ATL, fel Minoc gate. (I attempted on my home shard siege...only to find out that doing this on a mage is a VERY BAD IDEA...that turkey had ME for dinner)

It wasn't a difficult fight...but it took FOREVER (nearly 30 mins). Part of the problem obviously is I was using a "Wrath of the Dryad" and kept running my stamina down to the 40's before gaining back to 130 even with constant "confidence" spam. My suit also completely lacks SSI, and I didn't have a bird slayer (but I did have him on honor).

He still died though, and I got my 2.2k gold and a fragment of a map (kinda disheartening after such an epic fight for the stupid map to tell you "all right...now just 2 more!!")

I have ONE plea to the devs..

For gods sake....I know you guys LOVE to make monsters run on low health, but really???? These guys take off running from you at "redline", which with all the health they have is a few THOUSAND HP remaining. I chased him damn near from minoc gate to yew, getting constantly dismounted and "lambested" and was having a hell of a time even keeping up with him, much less getting hits in. It's almost as bad as fighting baracoon, except with the ability to run away as far as he wants.

ok...back to my vacation from UO...I promised myself I'd actually get work done..

Uhmm... bring up its health bar and keep double clicking in war mode when it starts to run. It will come back to you and stay put while you beat on it. That works for most targets in the game.

Negative, I tried that w/ the rat boss in SA. I would have to continually click so fast that I didn't have time to click anything else, it would Not stay put - Finger numbing.
I finally quit fighting anything which has this new "feature" and gave It the Finger.

In Glow, I found to Lure it up to the Lyceum where there are pieces of the wall that extend out - both of these can effectively trap and limit its travel. I say when Devs do dumbass stuff like this, that invokes 'unusual tactics', then it was 'intended' and legal to trap it.

About the same here. I've been solo'ing them on my ABC Archer/Fisherman. I'm not fully trained yet (90's) so with str/dex pots it takes me about 30-40 minutes and about 400 arrows. Using the new fishing bow (I don't have a good mana leech bow with speed increase and damage increase).

I'm not just guessing about this, it does work. Yes, you do have to click fast, but it does work. Hot key everything else and you don't need to click on anything else.

make sure and honor them first, then enemy of one, also using a weapon that does 100% poison damage (think its poison) also armor ignore works well if you have the mana to keep spamming it ! consecrate works well also

Well, just to add a different turn to things.

Necro, Nox, Mage ... solo. Took awhile but no issues (read deaths)

No summons. Just corpse skin, poison field, flame strike or poison strike. They don't suck you back to them when the poison ticks. Most damage received was 55 in a 70's suit.

I did 4 last night cause I was bored and no one else was on. The lvl 4 poison seems to tick from 28 descending down to 13. Flame strike hits for 52 to 65. (Of course with the bird corpse skinned. YMMV)

I took med and resist off my necro to put prov and music on. In wraith form, up to 6 birds, all beatin on each other, I can stand spamming chain lightning, with the occasional rearrange of the pecking order when one dies. Works just fine whether I'm solo or with a bunch of people.

If anyone on Europa doesn't have a bard, feel free to yell in global chat, and if I'm beating birdies, you're very welcome to come and join in :)

I was wondering how come that little turkey killed my tamer AND greater dragon!!

- - so I ask, as did Old Man up above, just what HP ??? did the programmers give those turkeys this year?

Cold, not poison...

All of the ones I fought were lowest in cold, and if Discoed by GM Disco, dropped to 15-25% cold.
