Getting from place to place

First and foremost I am very new to this shard, so I am asking for forgiveness right off the bat.

I was told you can not use sacred journey or recall, but can use gate. Not that it's going to change but I was wondering why? and how to most people travel around?

I have magery on a soulstone, but for the most part I run. Siege has never had recall, so when Chivalry was introduced they didn't include SJ on Siege. If you don't have access to gating, you'll learn where the hubs are and use all of the public dungeon and town portals to get from spot to spot...la

Welcome to Siege, there are public teleporter hubs we use, and of course if you live near water you can use gate with 0 magery on a boat key or rune. then there is the Hushpuppy method . . .

Most of us gate (or use a gate scroll if are magery is too low).
Crystal portals in houses set to public are all around the shard.
Also there is a public hub in the center of New Magencia and one just east of umbra.
Also anyone can gate to a boat if you have 40 mana without using any reagents at 0 magery.

Thank you for the info. So far the people I've come across have been very nice and helpful. I am really baby stepping it Though it's been good so far, about 3 days or so playing. I am homeless and I think I may be ok with that. I not sure if you have a home on a normal shard and this one. Though the price would be mind boggling to me as everything cost more. Working skills killing stuff and just watching my back has a very survival type feel to it.

I am a PvMer, I mostly like working skills and killing mobs, not players. I am think I want a pally. I think the recall sj think will be more of a hurdle to me then being killed by a player. Though not so high that I can't jump it

I'd just arrived at the bank for the very first time. It was a long time ago, but I'm pretty sure my entire Siege lifespan was way under an hour.

Things have changed over the years. Siege is a lot less dangerous then it once was...that being said...you do need to be prepared everywhere...la

I think that is what drew me give it a go, do wish I could have two toons though I only have one account and I only want to have one account

Soulstones have made it easy to play one account. Most people have multiple accounts only so they can have multiple homes...la

Atlantic is my home shard it. All my vet rewards, soulstones and everything are there. I do not know if I buy soulstones can I use them on Siege? I would also still have to get a home That's gonna be the BIG goal, well that and building making a decent character.

From time to time, you'll find legacy tokens for sale (the ones for the green soulstones). Or if you do end up staying *crosses fingers* you may be able to trade Atlantic goods for Siege items...la

Go to New Magincia, look what the community/stall vendors buy, there may be some stuff, you can gathering even as a newbie. I believe bolt of clothes and leather still sell. Get a dagger and find some sheep, there is lots near New Magincia moongate. use dagger on sheep (Don't use your best weapon as it will break). Now find a loom and a spinn and make bolt of clothes and sell them to players.
You should easy be able to make gold enough for a small home in a week.

When you try out the public teleporters, you may find some houses do have anyone secures with newbie stuff like LRC suit or spinded suit, tools and gm weapons. Use what you need. In my houses, this secures are yellow.

Unless you start doing champion spawns, or go to an event, no, probably not. Certainly not like out in the woods, or in a mine or something. Pretty much zero chance in those cases.

(he must not have been a pvp'er.) one guy looted me dry. the most valuable item he got was a pouch. then he kept asking for me in GC like he wanted to do me a favor and give my junk back. i think he wanted to add to his counts bc .. why take junk in the 1st place? i have one semi-developed char here who is only there to run vendors.

When I came here I knew what I was getting myself into, or at least what I COULD be getting myself into. I understand I can have a bad experience here. Though I can have a bad experience anywhere I feel I already know enough people to help me get a leg up if needed This shard just maybe underrated. Though Alt will still be my home.

Well, yeah at an IDOC in Luna no less, you will get attacked. That's essentially an organic event. But if you are out roaming the woods, or even in dungeons, you aren't going to see reds anymore. There's just too much land, too few players, and too little profit in running around for hours looking for some poor newb harvesting leather or something.

Most likely the person who killed you and looted you thought you had something from the IDOC, when they found you didn't they wanted to make amends. Of the few reds left, they are all fairly nice.

That was me who killed and looted you.
I killed you at the Umbra hub and offered a res. When you didn't show up for about 5 minutes I looted your stuff so nobody else would take advantage because I figured you had lost connection of whatever. That's why I was asking for you in GC. I was trying to give your stuff back...I still have it by the way if you want it back.
I also was gonna ask if you knew Xmug since you had a war fork with his GM mark on it. I knew Xmug back in the day...
anyways, instead of complaining about being drylooted despite the fact that I tried to give your stuff back you could have simply replied in GC...

I killed you for fun. It's what I do. Especially at IDOCs since those are occasions where you finally see a lot of people in one place. Also it makes waiting for the house to fall a little less boring. Sorry if that ruined your day I sure as hell didn't mean to. Usually people even congratulate me if I manage to kill them - some even think it adds fun to their game which is also what I always thought myself. I wish you had simply talked to me in GC and hopefully you would have realized that I'm not an asshat who is trying to ruin your fun.

It's so easy to choose the safe way on Trammel shards. I had a friend telling me, she choose Siege because here was no Trammel to hide in, when she was a like a chicken, afraid to go to Fel. She liked the danger but she always ended up choosing the easy way on Trammel shards.

I've been playing on Siege a few years now and have yet to be killed, though I have had my load lightened on occasion.

The very first day I created my char on Siege I decided to go to a different town. I forgot to bank my 1k gold first though. So of course I get PK'd just outside of the Moonglow gate. I had to spend the rest of the day wandering around the wilderness picking up regs cuz I couldn't afford to buy any.

I started on Siege with a friend from Europa called Lady Flame, we got PKed a fair bit back then, we didn't have any money and she really wanted to place a house so she spent a week in Ilsh at that harpy nest, leading them out to those pixies that attack them at the Oaks spawn there then looting the corpses, so if ever totally out of gold, that's one option, she made money faster that way than I did fighting lizardmen with 50 swordsmanship

She named all her chars Flame and she had at least 3, she wasn't really a proper murderer, she made that char red artificially, I'm not really sure why but I assumed at the time it was some sort of RP, I remember saying "ya that's a good idea, then I get to watch you get killed by blue tamers with packs of hellcats at luna bank and I cant lift a finger to help or Ill get guard whacked, great"

We got broadband in the UK in about 2003 and she started playing some other game more and more, I got bored and left UO
