Getting dex up and intelligence down

I have a character (a ninja more or less) to which I gave too much intelligence and not enough dex. I've had the stats pointing "up" for dex and "down" for intelligence for several weeks, trying to make the adjustment. I've done what I usually do, got into some battles and such, and it has not moved a single point in all that time.

Anyone have ideas about the best in-game actions to force DEX up and INT down?

Soulstone off a skill temporarily. Set snooping skill up. Set dex up, int down. Snoop until you have the desired dex. Soulstone skill back on.

you have to have the skill(s) set to raise that are associated with dex. they can't be locked. even if you're at your skill cap, they have to be set to raise. use those skills during normal game play and your dex should rise and int fall.

This is the way I would do it also. You can also use arms lore for int and item id for str or is the other way...but this is how I would go about it.

Mining is also an option. The mining skill raises strength and dex.

I have a spellslinger I'm converting to a swordswinger in the same situation. You need to be making gains in a skill that uses dexterity. I've been doing 0 - 30 skill in stealing using a pickpocket training dummy, then taking it back to zero by buying 30 points of Alchemy training in New Haven. It's slow but will happen as the dex using skill makes gains.

I've seen dex gains go by when hunting using sword or bow as well.

I did this recently, pretty much as Ls Jax Ls quoted, except I had an extra soulstone, and did macing, flushing mace at 15-18 points from 0, then repeat.Snooping is faster tho

When I needed dex tailoring was always the super skill for me. *shrugs* Guess everyone is different tho.

True, but I cared more about getting dex fast instead of the 100-200k needed.

Thanks. I carved out about 20 points off of a skill I had set to go down anyway, on which I built up macing from 0. Once I got to 20 macing, I set macing to drop, set swords to rise from zero and switched to a sword. Am able to finally get dex up by alternating these two weapons skills between 0 and 20 and getting constant skill gains in one (and drops in another).

Yeah soulstone a skill off, lock all skills except two skill you will want to buy to get near the cap maybe three. Leave 20 points or less free. Make sure you do not buy music and say wrestling. Now use music till you get the remaining points gone. REMEMBER TO LOCK ALL OTHER SKILLS FIRST. Now set music to lower and go wrestle something like training dummy. There are other skills you could use check UOguide for the best one. Once your music hits 0 and the other skill is to where music was switch the arrows lower wrestling raise music. Keep going back and forth until your stats are where you want them. This also works with other stats and a good method to setting up a char before you start training. But you must be at the cap.

Hope it helps.
