Added 33 music box gears at 10k apiece reguardless of type.
Edit: Added 39 more on 11/5/2011. Was only 4 left on it at the time

Cliffside Emporium At NE Mag.

One of mines missing 1 uncommon and the others missing 4 Rare. (<- based on 76)

The Dawns music box page says theres 76 total gears to be found. I had thought that there was 2 gears in the past that can't be reproduced, but both the ones I had thought were ultra rare I've gotten recently.

Anyone have any insight on this?

"The Wanderer" is the only unobtainable one, it was a quest reward and the gear type is actually different, it should be incredibly rare on siege Veritae's Music Box Gear - UOGuide, the Ultima Online encyclopedia

Added it 3 months or so ago from a abyss batch I went and got... Like all the others, Sight even says it spawns there.

Golems dont drop music gears anymore, 18 gears so far and all game blanks. From killing like 150 in a farming session. Dunno whats up with that.

After a 2nd study of the sight and looking at the picture there is a difference. The ultra rare one says the name of the Veritae's on the top and the name of the song below it. The new one you get now says the name of the song "Wanderer" on the top line and below it it says Rare. Once its added to the box it says Wanderer and theres absolutely no difference between the 2.

The only true proof of the rarity of a old gear is have never being added to the box in the first place showing the true title. Unless they allow removeal of gears, finding a true ones gonna be difficult.

Are you absolutely positive you got one to spawn? (you didn't just have one in storage or something?) If so I highly doubt it was intended to spawn down there, they were supposed to be a one time drop, they easily sell for 10m + on other shards, the quest gives a random gear but is not supposed to be able to give that one. (though UOguide worded it a bit confusingly)

Look on the entire song list, says spawns in the Underworld.

The Secondary box i have I started less than 2 years ago, and nothing but Abysses randoms have been added to it, and The Wanderer is 5th from the most recient added, which puts me down there 3 months or sooner.

My Primary box is wayyyy old and it has Wanderer 6th from the top.

And no my boxes list have never been shuffled. For that matter I couldn't tell you exactly what ones im missing. I just go down and add whatever I do in one farming session (20-40 usually).

Maybe one gear per 20 golems or so, didnt hunt for them.

How long ago was this (that you got the gears) as we discussed in gen chat a few days ago. I went 1 week ago and killed 150, and got 18 blank gears. (???)

It states on the page
"with the exception of Veritae's Music Box Gear, which was only available from a now defunct quest". I've you've found one from the quest you're the first one,nobody else is aware it can spawn there, as on other shards you could toss that in a music box and go sell it on the rares forum (the song was never supposed to be on normal dropping gears, only veritae's gear, if it's spawning on a normal rare gear now it might even be possible for a renowned or golem to drop it). That's why I just asked if your'e absolutely sure, if so I'd edit uoguide to reflect that it now drops from that quest, I'm going to repost this in uhall also though and see if anyone else has gotten one.

Just dont get your hopes up that it did drop considering the source of this information.

Publish 66 notes say 'We have added new SA Music'
SA is pretty much based on 'Ultima Underworld' if I understand correctly?
I don't have the music on when I play. Does this piece of music play when you are in Underworld or the Abyss? If it does, then I would guess that it would be one of those included as 'SA Music'.

This song was a seperate addition, like some of the other rare ones it's not even in UO other than in the music box. (only way to get the gear was turnin of 10 books of truth)

It's from the actual game ultima underworld Ultima Underworld: The Stygian Abyss - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If you want to listen to it, it's under you UO install folder in a folder called /music/Digital/ and the file name is "TheWanderer.mp3". It does not play in the abyss or underworld.

i thought music gears only spawned on paragon golems.

Theres a quest that drops a random gear now. Just a memory game.

Went down and got 40 more gears, no Wanderer, added 1 to my box and placed 39 others on my vendors. All 10k reguardless of type

FYI...

I filled up one on a non-Siege shard using the Gear Quest, but did not find any "Wanderer" using this quest (many gears collected). My "Wanderer" was from the old turn-in event.

P.S. Some gears are worth 0 (new rares), 100 (others) or 300 (older rares) points for clean-up if you need to close the point gap on some other shards.
