Gate Travel

After many years dealing with the you do not have cohesion "bug", I discovered while transporting prisoners, that simply double clicking the gate almost always works. Wish I had learned this long ago. Now I just stand by the open gate and double click it.....so much easier than trying to line up and walk through.

The gate graphics in the EC were a real pain for me (even harder while on a mount) until I realized I could press ctrl+shift and click the handy handle pop up.
1st every time gate entry

I guess that doesn't work in Classic Client.

When going through gates while collecting prisonsers, I hear the UO SOUND of going through the gate, not just once, but TWICE .. and that the second sound bounces me ahead one step.. almost like someone has come through the gate behind me and pushed me out of their way.

When I use a gate to transport the prisoner, often I deliver the prisoner to the Capt. of the Guard, then run back through the gate to get back to put out fires and pick up another prisoner. Both times I get the sounds of the gate doubled.

Has this always been happening or just something new? Never noticed it before.

Ah thanks. I hadn't noticed because I seldom use gates since Pets have been bonded. The transporting of Prisoners in Britain which is a brutally slow loyalty-gain operation makes me use gates excessively so I really noticed this double sound and bounce while trying to gain venerated status.

i heard the cohesion can be overcome by waiting until the sound of the gate fully opens then go threw.

Yes and no. :D Actually it works for the first time you want to step through a gate. It gets problematic when you want to get back to your former location through the same gate too fast. Depending on how fast you use gates, it often happens for me when i am trying to use a second gate. (Gate 1 through and back and at gate 2 through and delay/no permission for back.)
If anyone wonders ... I train taming and gate each ki-rin to the zoo for donation when this happens to me.

Ah good point
Last object macro.......
Depending on your actions after popping thru the gate the first time. I think I can single click a gump and still have the last object macro recognize the gate since it was a dbl click execution
