Gargish language question

Can someone explain, please, how to convey past tense in Gargish? For instance, there is:

English - Admit = Gargish - Chan-por
English - Admittance = Gargish - Chan-por-tas

but I don't see a way to make the word 'admitted'

It could be done by saying "I did admit that" except that I cannot find a translation for the word 'did', either.

I wish I could help on this one as I usually have the lore answers, but i'm honestly not that up on Gargish phonetics and structure (or Ophidian, but that's another story).

At first I thought gargish is very existentialist. Things "are" ... not were, not will be, they just are. But this may not be true since there are separate words for "is" (est) and "was" (prae-tim ... literally "before time", I might have expected it be prae-est). However, given that prae-prefixed words are uncommon, it does not appear to be a general indicator of tense.

Rather the suffix "-le" appears to be used to mark past tense for verbs (with "-re" for future). So, if this is used, admitted would be "Chan-por-le"

If you ever do get hopelessly stuck, remember that there is a whole layer of intonations and gestures which are not recorded in the written language, so that can always be used as a cop-out for missing grammar

"Admitted" can be either past tense, or passive (or both).

"I admitted him." would be past tense. (Subject is doing the verb)

"He is admitted." would be passive. (the verb is being done by someone else to the subject)

If you're trying to make it passive, you may want to use a "to be" word.
Such as "He is being admitted."

You might need to combine a "to be" verb with the "-le" suffix. It should result in something like "He has been admitted" which is mostly the same. (actually this could be translated directly as "he is admitted," but there's some ambiguity.)
