Gaining stealing from smugglers edge

Has anyone confirmed skill gains by using the smugglers edge? I have tried both with my natural stealing (53.1) and my stacked stealing (110) to no avail at this point. Maybe the Devs changed their minds and I missed the memo? :wall:

My thief has 103.1 real skill and has not gained at all. I have a warrior that I put 50ish stealing on hoping to raise it with the smuggler's edge and have not received any gains.
