A guild member mentioned that people trying to get a hold of me in game through general chat i am sorry but im not using general chat for a while. And also probally this site for a while. Im just getting sick of peoples trash talking. I play the game to enjoy my time not get hassled by others so i figured turn it off and quit posting here and things should be enjoyable again.

Yes, agreed. Just to much uncontrolled mean, hatefull, and unjust, trash talk in general chat, and this Stratics site isn't far behind general chat at times. Since there are people in game, intent on such trash talk and making game play with general chat on simply unenjoyable for others. Your family in I4NI ( 5 RL family) will join you turning general chat off. We agree not let a **** talking people ruin our fun in Siege.

I start a new chat channel when i get tired of hearing all the bickering and back biting.

On a separate note:
I have noticed that when people try to "clean" up genral chat - people go nuts and everything gets worse. Perhaps all of us should respect the rights of others by not trying to inflict our views and Mores on others speach.

I also believe the "trash" talking (even though I hate it) is part of the game and these people have the right to free speech also.

I agreed I get sick of the trash talk too but compared to Atlantic heck from what I have heard most other shards its extremely mild. Really the best thing to do when a trash talking session occurs is to ignore it. Talking to the trash talking person just encourages them. And yes I have found fro mexperience trying to stop the trash talking by intervening or whatever doesn;t work either.

Agreed...with a smaller community people seem to be more polite with each other.

Faction fights however seem to bring out the best in all of us !!

I think the problem is, you can only be in one chat at the time, else we would have a "trash" talking chat too, people could use, when it get heavy, without leaving gen chat.

I've been known to turn it off at selected times, but going without it entirely seems extreme. If it gets ugly, it's normally short lived. Why miss out on the experience the rest of the time? There's too much good going on.

I usually check general chat when I first log in and before I log out, otherwise I am fairly antisocial and can't be bothered with the nonsense.
