FYI : Trading on Siege Accounts...

FYI... I am not allowed to state any names. I guess it would be a defamation of character... But I'd like to take this time to remind you all to be mindful of who you trade with. It is important to know who are trustworthy. We all know pretty much who we can and can not deal with on this forum.

At this point, I am just appalled with certain individuals behaviors... I truly believe in Karma. I know he will get what is coming to him. I don't think it is right, and have absolutely no repsect for someone who is out there with constant intentions of scamming others. Scamming is not a surprise to many. But it happens... and it sucks. Ironically, it is always the same person that does... and personally, if we were to take a vote on banning him from this shard, I'd be the first one to raise my hand...

I would like to address that over the weekend a friend of mine was scammed for 38 million gold on Siege. Pretty much, what ever was promised was not delivered... The Character was supposed to have these stats:
255 stats, 121 months olds, 11 years, 120 spellweaving,120 imbueing,mysticism,veterinary,120 music,120 discordance,120 swordsmanship,bushido,120 archery,90 tactics,100 anatomy,90 healing,105 chivalry,110 animal taming,110 lore, 120 magery,eval,meditation,100 hiding,75 stealth, 110 ninjitsu,80 ninjitsu,80 veterinary,100 spiritspeak,100 necromancy,100 detect hiding,tracking,. 120 magic resist,120 parrying,wrestling

30 soulstones, a dreadmare, a house with items (regs, etc), along with bonded pets... a lot was promised with this account. So essentially, this individual took off with the 38 mill gold... and the account information was not what he promised it to be... This person makes many weary of ever trading with anyone else... and really does turn people off regarding this shard...

I have asked for an explaination from this individual, the thread is now labeled as though the account is "sold." Remember, this particular individual looks to purchase a lot of name change tokens.... Please don't be scammed by him.... this was the explaination I rec'd... I'd like to share it with you all...... (name has been dacted out so that I can be in compliance to this forums RoC)

Because "your friend" didn't come on here and ask about him as a seller or didn't even look up his past posts...he got what he deserved for being dumb...

I think he got the account, but it was not the same as what was advertised.

So essentially, this individual took off with the 38 mill gold... and the account information was not what he promised it to be...

Chardonnay, you are absolutely right, but I do not find it funny.... As you see, I usually do the talking for my friends who are interested in doing trades... I was away for the week on vacation. I didn't know this happened until I came home. It is a serious issue, and scamming like that is absolutely uncalled for... It wasn't in game playing, where he was a thief and ran off with something. He ran off with 38 million gold....

Fanta, you are right, according to the ruleset, there is absolutely nothing I can do. so again...

this is an FYI to all of you... just be mindful of who you trade with...

I agree completely. Things like this make Siege look terrible. Unfortunately, this person could care less about his reputation or Siege's. He is one of those people that believe the internet protects their identity and that they can treat people how they wish. They do things here that they would not dare do to a persons face.

One should always or only use EA to transfer and accept/buy/sell accts.

And NO it is not really funny in the least. There are folks whom maybe are a bit more naive, or more trusting, and get messed over, possibly never returning to UO or SIEGE again. If someone is naive or too trusting is NO EXCUSE to use em just.. to mess em over for personal gain or entertainment at the expense of another !

Personally I wish EA would forbid any accts. from being sold except thru them as a broker.

This sort of activity, taking advantage of others whom may or may not be naive or trusting shatters any trust those folks may be able to muster again to trust anyone on THIS SHARD or in this game.

Siege does not need to earn a reputation for being .... like many of the regular shards where folks screw over others just for giggles and their own amusements. It happens all to much on THIS shard lately, which does nothing for Siege's image as a whole, sadly it ruins the rep. where Siege Perilous had less of these sorts of lolscams happening. NOW we seem like every other PRODO SHARD ...where folks begin to trust no one anymore. Cuz ya never know whom is whom with all the buyin and sellin of accts, changing hands, too swiftly, going on lately & too many scams of ACCTS. which is not the same as playin an 'ingame' thief etc. ! :gun:

At anyrate, tell your friend, while it may not appear to be so any longer, Siege still has far more honest folks here, that wouldn't do this to others, for any reasons especially if they are naive, or not the brightest crayola in the box. More reason to help them than screw em over so they can get to know trust and like Siegers, not LEAVE Siege !
