Yes, and of course, your post here is inherently what's wrong with having corrected the bug in the first place. You're absolutely right that I would never exploit a bug for personal monetary gain in the game. That's completely and totally out of the spirit of the game.
But, nice way to try and gloss it over.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you're probably one of those rocket scientists who made sure you had a healthy supply of cloth to sell to others rather than do as others and make sure no one had to pay for it.
First, I'm a "he," not a "they." Grammar for the win.
Second, the entire post is relevant to the topic at hand. I'm not sure how the fixing of a bug that was exploited by some for monetary gain has nothing to do with the fact that they fixed a bug that was exploited by some for monetary gain, but I suppose you'll come up with some logical explanation for that. Logic for the win too.

When it is a game involving other living, breathing people that you interact with, yes it does. This isn't Call of Duty or any of a number single player games. Those people you see in Luna? Those people you pvp with? The people who post on stratics? All alive, all have feelings, all will have decisions on what kind of person they are dealing with when they interact with you.
Perhaps your time behind a computer has made you forget that?
Call of Duty has had multi-player since cod 2. Lol.

The DEVs (Developers) don't decide to do or not do anything.
They get told to do what they do or do not by Directors.
Developers are merely tools. How aptly they are wielded is another issue.
Focus your attacks and leave the DEVs alone.
(As an aside, make 4 types of White tubs - Cloth - Leather - Metal - Wood)

Actually, when you hide behind online anonymity and act like an anti-social jackass in a game it tells a lot about your real-life morals, or lack thereof.
How you act when nobody knows who you are is the real you.

Oh by the way, EA has officially refused to even take a look at my anti-hack program I did back in 1999 (yes I was 14 y.o. and a computer nerd), I think they are afraid I will sue them if they "steal" the idea I'm willing to provide for free.
Others have been telling me to go public with it, but the whole goal of it existing is that noone (at least for a while) knows how it works so it remains unhackable, and yes I know how to do this very simply using the players own CPU (no significantly addional lag).
This program can spot hacking, macro, scripting, speed walk, etc... The answer is NO.
The people who have made millions out of hacking UO are being allowed to walk away and pay themselves *AHEM* in the bahamas.
Don't tell me you care, I am crying alone for this and know it full well.
