Frost dragon "cannot be tamed" ?

I had never tried to tame a frost dragon before today. One spawned while looting an L7 fel chest (not the initial spawn, later while looting). Another character got it down to 20 percent life. I called in my tamer and got the message "this creature cannot be tamed." Is that normal? So how do I tame a frost dragon? Thanks

The Frost Dragons and Cold Drakes should be tamable. Iv'e never seen ont that couldn't be tamed.

Cold Drakes are 3 slot and have the same setup. Those are better for training and building.

Why the message this creature cannot be tamed? Then again, maybe it doesn’t matter, if I should be going after a cold drink instead of a frostie anyway.

I guess it was a fluke - I spawned another frost dragon and it was tamable :shrug:

Frosties are awesome, since lots of them come with 1000 hps, and have overcapped skill capabilities (Wres, Tact, and Parry at least)

I use my FD to solo the belfry.

I used to use my trained CD, until it mysteriously went wild (luckily, two of us were doing Belfry, and I was able to quickly retame and bail).

were u mounted? if u try to tame a 5slot pet but don't have 5 free slots u get that message

The only things I can think of is whether it was a [Guardian] version or not. Seem to remember those not being tamable at one point, but my memory could be slipping as I have not tried in a while. Would not be the first case of my memory slipping either lol

I have also had to beat some of the down to be able to tame but you should be getting that "subdued" message instead of unable. Last thing I though of is are you sure it was spawned from your chest and not a left over from someone else's chest? Have tried to tame one I just ran across once and got that message as well (just a guess *shrugs*)

If that was the case he would get the message "You have too may followers" yadda yadda.. good thought though.
